How are you celebrating Diwali? Our India team's celebration was nothing short of vibrant 😉 The team embraced traditional attire, filling the office with rich colors and a festive spirit. The day kicked off with pooja ceremony, bringing a sense of peace and blessings and good vibes for the year ahead. No Diwali is complete without delicious treats! The team enjoyed samosas, laddoos, and jalebis, bringing a sweet taste of tradition to the gathering. The festivities continued with a fun ethnic ramp walk where team members flaunted their traditional attires, winning prizes for the best looks of the day. The celebration wrapped up with games, laughter, and togetherness. Here’s to a Diwali filled with light, prosperity, and endless happiness for all. Last weekend, CYBATHLON 2024 took place in Zurich. This unique competition brought together 67 teams from 24 countries, each one showcasing life-changing assistive technologies designed for people with disabilities. Linxens was there to support the Bionicohand team of the association My Human Kit, and its “pilot”, Nicolas Huchet. Do you know my human kit? This inspiring association was founded by Nicolas Huchet and a team of visionaries who believe in the power of creativity and technology to empower people with disabilities. Their mission? To harness collective intelligence to develop personalized, open-source solutions that improve lives. One of their creative innovations is the Bionicohand, a prosthetic hand that redefines the possibilities of assistive technology. But what exactly is the Bionicohand, and where did the name come from?  The name combines "bionic," representing advanced, tech-driven prosthetics, and "hand," symbolizing both functionality and human connection. The Bionicohand reflects My Human Kit’s ethos: leveraging simple, affordable, and accessible technology to enhance the lives of those who need it most. By uniting makers, engineers, and the broader community, they show that disability isn’t a limitation, it’s a catalyst for creativity and innovation. We are proud to support Nicolas Huchet as he prepares for the CYBATHLON, a global event showcasing the future of assistive technologies. The aim is to demonstrate collective intelligence and the sharing of open-source solutions that can lead to accessible, fast, and easy-to-use prosthetics for all. One of the challenges Nicolas will face at the Cybathlon involves inserting a smartcard into a terminal using the Bionicohand. This event brings together individuals with disabilities to tackle real-world challenges using assistive technologies. We first met Nicolas three years ago, and his story has inspired us ever since. At just 18, he lost his hand in a factory accident. Faced with two difficult choices: rely on a less functional standard prosthetic or invest in an expensive high-tech option. He chose a third path: Nicolas took matters into his own hands, literally.  What did Nicolas do? With the help of volunteers, he built his own prosthetic hand, the "𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱"—and later founded "MY HUMAN KIT" an association, dedicated to creating and sharing technical aids for people with disabilities using the collective intelligence and open-source collaboration. Nicolas’ journey mirrors the core values we cherish at Linxens: resilience, continuous innovation, and a passion to facilitate the daily life for everyone. His determination and creativity resonate deeply with our mission to improve lives through technology, particularly in health and safety. Just as Linxens integrates its components into everyday solutions, Nicolas develops life-enhancing devices such as the Bionicohand. Now, at the Cybathlon, he will demonstrate that by harnessing collective intelligence, it’s possible to create affordable, easy-to-use prosthetics that can change lives.
