🔧 [Project] Bakheng Water Production Facilities – Phase 3, Phnom Penh, Cambodia 🌍 Menard Asia was commissioned to supply and install Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD) at the Bakheng Water Production Facilities. Key Highlights: 📍 Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia ⚙️ Technique: Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD) ⏱️ Duration: 5 weeks ⚙️Why Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD)? Covering a total surface area of 29,000 m², Menard Cambodia installed 360,000 meters of PVD to enhance soil drainage and accelerate settlement, providing a stable foundation for this essential facility. 📈Benefits: The project aimed to install approximately 12,500 (PVD) units in five weeks, utilizing a specialized PVD driving machine to reach depths of up to 30 meters. This innovative solution significantly improved the soil's drainage capacity, promoting faster settlement and ensuring a stable foundation for the water production facilities. [Project] Ground Improvement for a Distribution Center in Girardota, Colombia 🏗️   Menard Colombia is executing ground improvement work for a future Distribution Center in Girardota.   Key Information: 📍 Location: Girardota, Antioquia, Colombia ⚙️ Technique: Dynamic Replacement 📅 Year: 2024   ⚙️Why dynamic Replacement? Menard Colombia has opted for the Dynamic Replacement technique to reinforce the soil at depths between 5 to 6 meters, covering an area of 49,000 m². This technique was selected because it is the most suitable for the site's heterogeneous soils, which have high variations in water content, debris, and soft clay. This will enable better control of project settlements and help optimize the project timeline. [🔦 Technique Spotlight] Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) This week, we are focusing on Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC), a technique developed by Menard to overcome problems of lateral confinement in highly compressible and organic soils. This innovative soil stabilization technique is designed to strengthen soft or loose soils, offering exceptional support for infrastructure projects such as airports, roads, or multi-store buildings. It is an economical alternative to traditional deep foundation solutions and can prove beneficial for the global design of the overlying structure. Explore our carousel below to learn more about CMC. 🏗️ #SoilImprovement #Menard #CMC #GroundStabilization

🚧[Project] Soil improvement for an industrial building in Savoie, France The Rhône-Alpes/Auvergne team from Menard France delivered an innovative ground improvement solution using Rapid Impact Compaction (R.I.C.) to reinforce the foundation of a new building. Key Information: 📍 Location: Savoie, France ⚙️ Technique: Rapid Impact Compaction (R.I.C.) 📅 Year: 2024 Soil Conditions: Geotechnical investigations revealed variable sandy gravel layers that required efficient compaction. Why Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC)? The RIC technique is based on a device installed on a hydraulic crawler carrier. This solution allows for the creation of shallow foundations and uniformly reinforces the underlying soil without adding extra requirements for future work. Benefits: ◾Minimized financial impact ◾Building on shallow foundations ◾A homogeneous system for soil improvement ◾No incorporation of steel or concrete in the tracks ◾Use of local suppliers wherever possible ◾Use of existing soil To learn more about Menard France projects, visit : https://lnkd.in/d8p2qdHg #GroundImprovement #SustainableConstruction #SoilCompaction #RIC #MenardFrance

[Project] Menard Asia executed ground improvement works at Kiantar Airport, ensuring the safe extension of the runway to reinforce soft soils and improve overall infrastructure stability. Key Information: 📍 Location: Poto Tano, West Sumbawa Regency, Indonesia ⚙️ Technique: Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) & Dynamic Compaction (DC) 📅 Year: 2023 🏗️ Ground Conditions: The project site posed significant challenges with varied soil conditions: sandy soils extended up to 8 meters in the southern runway area, transitioning to dense sand beneath. The northern runway area consisted of surface clay layers followed by medium stiff clay. The taxiway and apron had predominantly loose to medium sand conditions. ⚙️ Why CMC & DC? To address these varying soil types, Dynamic Compaction was employed in the southern runway to densify the sandy soils, reducing the risk of liquefaction. Meanwhile, Controlled Modulus Columns were implemented in the northern runway, providing rigid inclusions to mitigate settlement. 📈 Benefits: These ground improvement techniques ensure a stable foundation for the long-term durability of the project and reduce settlement risks. Additionally, this will support the stability of the runway, taxiway, and apron areas. [Project] Menard UK collaborated with TD Jagger Ltd to conduct ground improvement works beneath the foundations and floor slab of the new Seabrook Crisp factory extension. Key information:   📍 Location: United Kingdom   ⚙️ Technique: Controlled Modulus Columns   📅 Year: 2024    🏭 Ground Conditions :   Initial investigations revealed that the site was constructed over natural clays. At the request of Menard UK, additional CPT were carried out across the entire site to precisely map the variations in different layers and inform the detailed CMC design.  ⚙️ Why Controlled Modulus Columns?    To support the foundations and floor slab of the extension, Menard UK used Controlled Modulus Columns (CMCs). This technique was chosen due to its efficiency and minimal disruption to the existing facility, which remained operational throughout the work.  📈 Benefits :    Menard UK offered a CMC solution that allowed the construction of conventional shallow foundations, reduced the carbon footprint, and accelerated the construction sequence.  Learn more about the Menard UK project: https://lnkd.in/erJnXVFT #GroundImprovement #Construction #Engineering #Menard

[Project] MENARD Canada Inc. conducted the project Oceanfront Park development in Squamish, British Columbia.  Highlights:   📍 Location: British Columbia, Canada   ⚙️ Techniques used: Vibro Stone Columns and Dynamic Compaction   📅 Year: 2022 ⛰️ Ground Conditions: The site had dredged sand and low plastic silt, posing significant challenges such as the risk of liquefaction during an earthquake. The proximity to the ocean made it even more critical to implement the right ground improvement solutions.  ⚙️ Why Vibro Stone Columns and Dynamic Compaction? Our engineers recommended ground improvement to address liquefaction effects near the existing foreshore, including flow slides, which could cause lateral and vertical movement along the shoreline.    📈 Benefits:   Menard Canada installed Vibro Stone Columns up to 20 meters deep to mitigate risks in areas with contaminated soil. Dynamic Compaction was employed to address the top 18 meters. Rigorous testing, including CPT, SPT, and DCPTs, confirmed the effectiveness of these solutions.      Learn more about the MENARD Canada Inc. project: https://lnkd.in/e7HCyVyw   #GroundImprovement #Construction #Engineering #Menard
