À propos
The mission of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. The OECD provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems. We work with governments to understand what drives economic, social and environmental change. We measure productivity and global flows of trade and investment. We analyse and compare data to predict future trends. We set international standards on a wide range of things, from agriculture and tax to the safety of chemicals. We look, too, at issues that directly affect the lives of ordinary people, like how much they pay in taxes and social security, and how much leisure time they can take. We compare how different countries’ school systems are readying their young people for modern life, and how different countries’ pension systems will look after their citizens in old age. Drawing on facts and real-life experience, we recommend policies designed to make the lives of ordinary people better. The common thread of our work is a shared commitment to market economies backed by democratic institutions and focused on the wellbeing of all citizens.

Today is the #WorldMentalHealthDay, and this year’s focus is on mental health at work. A healthy workplace helps with better mental and physical well-being of employees, which benefits everyone. Learn more about OECD’s work and recommendations on how to integrate mental health, skills, and work policies. ⤵️
Living with mental health conditions makes it harder to transition from education to work, to work effectively and productively, and to stay employed. On this #WorldMentalHealthDay that focuses on “Mental health at Work”, it’s worth taking a look at the OECD Recommendation on Integrated Mental Health, Skills, and Work Policy, endorsed by health and employment ministers from the 38 OECD countries 👉 https://lnkd.in/e6NutmfF Many OECD countries have made significant progress in identifying and addressing mental health risks in the workplace, but more can be done to support a return to work and reduce preventable sick leave of people with mental health conditions 👉 https://lnkd.in/e68uV6vR Workplaces are also key environments to promote employee health – mental and physical - as well as well-being. Dedicated programs and policies not only protect from occupational risks, but also provide benefits for employees and employers 👉 https://lnkd.in/gK2_Kiqu Learn more about mental health here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eHSNqnUz

Did you know that lithium-ion batteries power many of the products we use daily? From mobile phones and laptops to e-bikes and scooters, these fast-charging batteries keep us connected and on the move. As consumers increasingly seek convenience and eco-friendly solutions, these rechargeable batteries help reduce waste and support sustainability. The global lithium-ion market is projected to grow from USD 59.8 billion in 2022 to USD 307.8 billion by 2032. However, despite their widespread use, many consumers remain unaware their devices rely on these batteries—44% of US adults know little about them, and 43% of e-bike owners are unaware their bike uses one. At the OECD Consumer Policy Ministerial Meeting, Ministers from over 50 countries tackled new product safety risks in our fast-evolving and global marketplace. During this session, the OECD launched a global campaign to raise awareness about the safe use of lithium-ion batteries, emphasising the critical need for safety standards in green and emerging technologies.
