Photonis Detectors Are Headed to the Moon! We’re proud to announce that Photonis, a leading brand of Exosens, is supporting NASA’s Artemis program with our Micro Pore Optics (MPOs) and Microchannel Plates (MCPs). These advanced detectors were integral to the development of the X-ray imaging instrument at Boston University, which was provided to NASA and named Lunar Environment Heliospheric X-ray Imager (LEXI). Launched on January 15th aboard Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost Lander from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, LEXI will capture the first global images of Earth’s magnetosphere from the Moon’s surface. This critical magnetic shield protects our planet from solar radiation. By studying its interaction with the Sun’s solar wind, LEXI will provide invaluable insights for ensuring astronaut safety during future Artemis missions. Radiant Industries Visit at Photonis Nuclear Instrumentation facilities the 10th of December, 2024. We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Matt Wilson, Director of Operations from Radiant at our Brive premises. This meeting strengthened the ties between our two companies, while providing an opportunity to discuss our respective technologies and expertise. A rich and inspiring program During the visit, our teams presented our latest innovations in the field of nuclear detection. With particular interest paid to our new range of products, which perfectly meets current technological challenges in the advanced reactor space, particularly for high temperature application. A fruitful exchange for the future This moment of exchange allowed us to deepen our mutual understanding of the challenges of our respective markets and to identify opportunities for collaboration. L’équipe Instrumentation Nucléaire de Photonis au complet visite la Centrale Nucléaire de Production d’Électricité de Golfech (Tarn-et-Garonne). Depuis plus de 40 ans, Photonis conçoit, fabrique et fournit des détecteurs neutroniques essentiels pour la sûreté nucléaire. Ces détecteurs jouent un rôle clé dans la surveillance des cœurs de réacteurs du parc nucléaire français. Cette visite a permis d’illustrer concrètement les applications de nos technologies, tout en mettant en lumière l’expertise collective de nos collaborateurs. Plongés au cœur des opérations, nous avons pu échanger sur les exigences de sûreté et de performance qui façonnent l’industrie nucléaire. The French Army receives its first 300 Bi-NYX night vision binoculars equipped with Photonis 4G technology The French Army has recently strengthened its night combat capabilities with the delivery of 300 Bi-NYX night vision binoculars, equipped with Photonis 4G image intensifier tubes. As part of this modernization effort, the older Lucie night vision goggles are being replaced by the more advanced Nellie model, both developed by Thales. Ordered in a batch of about 2 000 units by the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement (the French armament procurement agency) , the new binoculars provide enhanced resolution and a wider field of view, allowing soldiers to operate more effectively in low-light conditions. A key feature of the Bi-NYX binoculars is the integration of Photonis 4G technology, which delivers high-resolution images and superior visibility in low light environments. This technology greatly enhances detection, recognition, and identification capabilities, giving soldiers a significant tactical advantage during nighttime operations.
