SCIRT partnered with Europe’s leading fashion brands and textile innovators to tackle one of fashion's biggest challenges: recycling. To succeed, we’ve developed a yarn made from over 50% recycled clothing and we're not stopping there. We’re designing clothes that last longer, easier to recycle, and contribute to a sustainable future. Together, we are redefining the textile industry towards a more sustainable future🌿👚👖🧵. 🌿 NBRACER Regional Workshop Recap: Porto! ✨ We are thrilled to share that the final event of the NBRACER Regional Workshop Series was a tremendous success! Held on July 4th in the beautiful city of Porto, this workshop marked the culmination of an inspiring journey that began in Denmark, traversed Belgium, France, Spain, and concluded in Portugal.   🏛 The Municipality of Porto showcased the NBRACER project at the historic Quinta de Salgueiros in Campanhã. On the historic city estate site, participants explored groundbreaking initiatives aimed to restore climax forests, streams, and meadows through innovative nature-based solutions. These pilots are not just local endeavours but potential models for cities across Europe facing similar challenges.    Vice-President Filipe Araújo kicked off the event with insights into Porto's environmental strategy, and the importance of NBRACER in enhancing climate adaptation in the region. Participants engaged in lively discussions exploring the city's climate challenges and brainstorming solutions.   🌿 The day concluded with an inspiring visit to Quinta de Salgueiros, where participants witnessed firsthand the transformative potential of nature-based solutions in urban planning.   This initiative, led by Porto City Council and involving key stakeholders from municipal departments, companies, NbS promoters, and universities, underscores our commitment to sustainable urban development. 🌍 NBRACER Regional Workshop Belgium Recap: Shaping the Future of the rural side between Bruges and Damme! 🌳🏰 We're thrilled to share the highlights from our recent NBRACER Regional workshop in West-Flanders, focused on climate adaptation in the beautiful region of the eastern rural side of Bruges. The NBRACER Regional workshop was held last week at the stunning Hotel/Castle of Lodewijk Van Male. Here's a snapshot of our journey towards a #climateresilient future . 🌿✨ Exploring the Area: We kicked off by diving into the unique characteristics of the region, gaining a deeper understanding of this beautiful area. 🌾 Field Trip Fun: Participants hopped on bikes for an immersive field trip around Maleveld (part of Bruges), experiencing firsthand the landscapes and communities that make this area special. 🚴♀️ Tackling Climate Challenges: We examined the pressing climate change challenges and uncovered exciting opportunities to enhance the region's resilience. 🌱🌧️ Vision for the Future: Through interactive break-out sessions and dynamic discussions, we collaborated to create a compelling vision for the future of this region. 💡🤝 The energy and ideas shared were truly inspiring.
