For anyone who watched the final Shelton vs. Humbert in Frankfurt (and the previous matches of course), these words by Patrick Mouratoglou will definitely ring a bell. Can't be prouder of our field and of the commitment of the players for the fans.

Want to see spectacular and attacking players at every rally? Come to see an UTS event! That’s the main takeaway that we had at our latest event in Frankfurt. At every UTS event, I’m seeing a fascinating shift. Players are now mastering the unique format of UTS, with quarters and fast pace-rules, they’re doing something remarkable – they’re taking calculated risks and playing more aggressive tennis, but with precision. It’s no longer just about reacting; it’s about controlling the match and knowing exactly when to strike. The bonus card system, for example, has become a strategic weapon. Players like Frankfurt winner, Ben Shelton are no longer hesitant to go for it, unleashing powerful serves at the perfect moment, knowing full well the reward is worth the risk. What’s truly exciting is that this level of boldness is paying off. The aggressive play we’ve seen isn’t reckless, it’s intentional, and it’s shaping the dynamic nature of UTS. What’s even more thrilling? The format encourages this style of play. When you have less time between points, fewer opportunities to reset, and more rallies, you’re forced to stay sharp, both physically and mentally. This is what UTS is all about – fast-paced, high-stakes tennis that rewards those who dare to push the boundaries of their game. The third stage of this 2024 Race showed us just how well players are adapting. They’re learning to thrive in this environment, and it’s leading to some of the most intense, exciting tennis I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to be in London – December 6 to 8th – with the best players in the world able to play at this incredible pace. My full take on this event is in my interview with Tennis Majors, in the first comment. #UTS #UTSTour UTS Tour #PatrickMouratoglou #tennis #sports

We are proud to announce our first stop in Latin America. It will be in Guadalajara, Mexico, next February. UTS Guadalajara will be the inaugural event of the 2025 UTS season, thanks to a great partnership with GS Sports Management Eight of the very best players in the world will compete from February 14th to 16th on the centre court of the Centro Panamericano de Tenis. Among them, four are already confirmed : - Wimbledon finalist and popular showman Nick Kyrgios, from Australia - Triple Grand Slam runner-up Casper Ruud, from Norway - Wimbledon semi-finalist and career-high n.10 Denis Shapovalov, from Canada - Rising star Flavio Cobolli, from Italy. Guadalajara is already deeply-rooted in women’s international tennis, being the location of the WTA GDL Open Akron (follow it this week!) and having previously hosted the prestigious WTA Finals back in 2021. UTS, the brainchild of celebrated coach Patrick Mouratoglou, is an innovative, fast-paced competition, designed to showcase tennis to both historical and new audiences. The three days of competition on Mexican soil will be split into two round-robin days (the 8 players competing on both February 14th and 15th February), as well as a traditional Final Four showdown (semi-finals and the final on February 16th, with the iconic Zeus trophy on the table) – maximising the enjoyment of both the players and fans alike. - cc Baptiste Kern Emilien Bordet Patrick Mouratoglou

You want Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in tennis? You have it. UTS Tour made it. We had seen it in Cincinnati, the week before UTS event in New York, Felix Auger-Aliassime lose a match point against Jack Draper because of an umpiring error that could have been avoided with the video assistance. If the umpire had been able to review the video and monitor the fact that Draper’s half volley had hit the ground a second time before going back to Felix, a fair decision could have been made. The umpire was not in fault. He did the only thing he could do as per the rules : decide on his own feeling, just having seen the point in real time. But you can't rely on your "feeling" knowing what's on the table for the players. VAR is now essential to relieve the umpire and avoid the players' frustration. At UTS, we have decided to implement Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in New York, and of course we will continue, as soon as our next stage in Frankfurt (October 18-20). See what happened in the video. Isn't it much better like this? At UTS now, there is no longer an umpire’s chair on our iconic court, but a scoreboard, as in the NBA. To call lines, UTS relies on a Live Electronic Line Calling (L-ELC) system. Today, electronic umpiring is very efficient. You don't need the human eye to see the marks. It's the eye of the camera that's statistically more accurate and an equity is guaranteed to the players. The umpire is still in charge of the game, with time-outs and timing etc, but we're giving them a greater arsenal to deal with potential player complaints. And with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), the umpire is now able to quickly verify any unnecessary frustration on the part of a player. Here is a non-exhaustive list of rules for review : ○   Double bounce ○   Player touching the net ○   Ball touching the player (or their outfit or the frame) ○   Use of bonus cards after regular time ○   Scoring error ○   Deliberate double hit of the ball ○   Touching the ball on the other side of the net ○   Racket not in the player’s hand while touching the ball ○   Player’s behavior (lack of respect, rude gesture, dangerous behavior, damage to infrastructure, etc.) If you missed it in New York, we look forward to seeing you in Frankfurt to discover this tennis innovation and experience. Share your thoughts on how a tennis match should be directed by the umpire. Because that’s something we will not change : the umpire is the leader and the ultimate judge. We just have to give him the tools he needs. Congrats Baptiste Kern Emilien Bordet Stéphane Apostolou and his team for this landmark in showing tennis like never before. #tennis #tennislife #utstour #uts

Creativity is at the heart of UTS! With just one serve, you have to find other ways to win points, and that leads to amazing on-court battles between the players! We can't wait to see the show in New York! 🙌🏻😍🇺🇸

IIf you like to be entertained from start to finish at a sporting event, UTS Tour is THE place to be! Let me explain why. A UTS Tour match is four quarters of eight minutes, only one serve with no more than 15 seconds between points. Players have to be more creative to win the point without the serve and the return, because the serve and the return is only starting the point. The creativity with drop shots, coming to the net and drive volleys to me seems to be happening a little bit more. I think it also makes the court view different for the players. We're seeing shots going around the net post a lot more. We're seeing different heights and flight. So having the 15 seconds in between each point is a really interesting concept. Normally players, after they've played a long rally in the traditional format, look for a big first serve, to get out of the point. But in the UTS sense, hitting a big serve or a fast flat serve could give the point away immediately. And players naturally don't want to do that because they’re being in a competitive environment, they want to win. So in UTS, expect a whole lot more serving volleys, drive volleys, and drop shots. These sort of shots that are more exciting for the fans are happening more often. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for UTS Tour New York!

!SOUND ON! You’ve not seen everything that tennis is able to provide, or, should I say, you’ve not HEARD everything.   "I think it's a good idea. I think there will be some funny stuff that comes out from that happening." I love Ben Shelton's reaction to the announcement that the Washington tournament would be equipping some doubles players with on-court microphones.   Because what's cruelly lacking in tennis is SOUND. At UTS Tour, this is part of our commitment since the creation of our innovative tennis format created by Patrick Mouratoglou   With its innovative TV production, UTS is bringing this new dimension to the broadcast. Fans want to hear what's going on in the players' heads, so we came up with the idea of putting microphones on the players between quarters so that they could answer the commentators' questions. It is a great addition both for the public in the stadium and for those watching on their screens - you get to understand what's going on in the players' minds. And because interviews are conducted mid-match, at the heart of the action, players just don't have time to filter what they're saying. The characters of the players come out better and more authentic this way, and as a result you feel closer to them as a fan.   UTS also puts the sound of the coaches in the spotlight. At UTS, coaches are sitting on their player’s bench during the whole match and equipped with microphones. They are able to speak and coach whenever they want, as much as they want. And it's just fascinating to hear the coaches give pep talks and strategic advice during the matches, between the points, and also at the changeovers.   Take Rublev, for example: we were able to see and experience his successful coach's advice from the inside during his match against De Minaur in the UTS Oslo final. So from a fly-on-the-wall perspective, you get to listen to what's going on. Truly immersive as you’ll see in the video below!   We believe that understanding the players, getting to know them and getting closer to them in the same way as when you follow them on social networks is of great value for the new generation of fans, and is the future of tennis.   I don’t know yet what memorable sounds we’ll take away from UTS New York (August 22-23) in a few days at Forest Hills Stadium… One thing is for sure : there will be plenty!”'    #uts #utstour #utsnewyork #show #sport #innovation

Today we are happy to announce that UTS is coming back to Frankfurt! History will be made later this year when the German city becomes the first to host a UTS Tour event for a second time. After the incredible success of last year’s tennis competition, when a sell-out crowd embraced the innovative, fast-paced tennis format, Frankfurt’s 5,000-seat Suwag Energie Arena will host another star-studded field, from October 17-20, 2024. Total prize money of $1.665 million will be on offer, with a maximum of $421,800 available to the winner. Grand Slam champion Dominic “Dominator” Thiem returns, after playing in UTS Oslo this year, while Frances “Big Foe” Tiafoe and Frenchman Gael “La Monf” Monfils have also signed up for the eight-man event, one of four on the UTS Tour in 2024. The winner will qualify for the season-ending UTS Grand Final in December. Who can forget last year’s Frankfurt extravaganza, when Andrey “Rublo” Rublev beat Grigor “G-Unit” Dimitrov in a sensational final and Monfils’ slapped forehand return - the UTS Shot of the Year - almost broke the internet. “I loved Frankfurt, I loved the atmosphere. It was like a cauldron, with people very close to us,” says Monfils. “I remember of course this incredible match against Rublev. German people didn’t know what to expect at the beginning but they quickly let themselves go and I know that they will be at the next level this time, now that they know what UTS is about. I can’t wait” His rivals will be former US Open champion Thiem, who will make his third UTS appearance, and Tiafoe, who is back after making his debut in Los Angeles last year. The 2024 Frankfurt edition will be held over four days, with more sessions added to meet the demand for action. Rublev leads the current 2024 UTS race rankings, having beaten Alex “The Demon” de Minaur, in the final of Oslo, the first stop of the UTS Tour in February. UTS will also be in New York for the first time, on August 22-23, before Frankfurt takes center stage. The eight men in Frankfurt will compete in two round-robin groups, with the top two in each group moving through to the semi-finals. Fans will get to see the players across four days, including Thursday, when they will compete in the All Star Game. The brain-child of Patrick Mouratoglou, UTS is tennis like never before. With four eight-minute quarters and just 15 seconds between points, players have one serve and can use unique bonus cards throughout.  “At UTS, we have at the same time the combination of the two things that we are looking for in this special event: the incredible fight of the players to win what is a real competition that matters, and a super entertainment based on the fans’ experience”, highlights Patrick Mouratoglou. Tickets go on sale on Friday 5 April, at noon, with prices starting at 29 Euros per day. Tickets for the All Star Game, plus two matches on Thursday 17th, start at 19 Euros. They can be purchased directly from www.uts.live.
