#Fairtrade is one of the secret ingredients in our chocolate recipe for impact! 🍫 We’re proud to support cocoa farmers in Togo through Bonneterre. In 2023, we helped fund a farmer-initiated project: a cocoa and shade tree nursery for the IKPA cooperative, providing 75,000 cocoa seedlings, 8,000 shade trees, and 3,000 fruit trees. 🌱 As climate change disrupts farming, these resources will help farmers adopt sustainable agroforestry practices, improve soil health, and secure their livelihoods. Let’s contribute to a more resilient future for Togo’s cocoa farmers. 🤝 #FoodForBiodiversity

In our B Corp journey, we've unlocked various 'IBMs.' What are IBMs, what do they mean, and why are we proud of them?! Let’s focus today on the IBM “Resource conservation”. First of all, what is an IBM? A B Corp IBM is a purposeful design approach within the B Corp Framework, surpassing traditional CSR. . There are 23 Impact Business Models (IBMs) addressing five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. While not all IBMs may be relevant, Unlocking even one is a significant achievement… and we’ve unlocked five! 🎉 💪 Of course we’re very proud of that! Let’s now focus on the IBM “Resource conservation”: This IBM recognizes products and/or services that reduce resource use. We unlocked this IBM for our commitment to offer dairy alternative drinks and products, which not only taste great but are less resource-intensive on our planet.🤝 By offering dairy alternatives that not only taste amazing but also require fewer resources, we've made a positive impact on the planet. Our mission is to continue expanding the availability of delicious plant-based products in supermarkets and health food stores. #FoodForBiodiversity #BCorp

Not to brag, but we are multi-award winners for our pioneering sustainability initiatives that started 30 years ago 😉! Last year for example, we have been honored with the ‘Sustainable Food Award 2023’ in the Sustainability Leadership category. This prestigious recognition celebrates our pioneering initiatives and unwavering commitment to sustainable food production. And this is how we did it: 🌱 Farmtastic Biodiversity Programme: Championing organic, plant-based practices, and agroecological approaches. 🍵 Tea Production: Achieved a 50% reduction in environmental impact compared to conventional methods. 🛡️ Avoided Pesticide Index: Helped avoid 300,000 chemical treatments in 2021 alone. 📦 Innovative Packaging: Saved 200 tons of plastic waste annually. Huge thank you to our amazing team for making this victory possible. #LeadersForBiodiversity

#WorldFoodDay 🌾 The world is reliant on just nine plant species: corn, rice, soybeans, wheat, potatoes, palm oil, cane sugar, beet sugar and cassava. This is totally unsustainable. Yes, corn, soybeans, rice, potatoes, wheat, palm oil, cane sugar, beet sugar, and cassava… collectively provide two-thirds of what we eat! It reduces crop and plant biodiversity and makes the food supply chain vulnerable to disruptions such as pest and disease outbreaks and climate change. It also reduces nutrition and taste. 💚 At Ecotone we believe in mixing things up, so we’ve introduced more plant species and ingredients to our recipes. And today: 66% of our recipes use alternative ingredients! This not only provides consumers with more nutritious food options but also boosts biodiversity. We’re beyond excited to share that Ecotone has won the TALENTS FOR THE PLANET Trophy in the "Employee Acculturation Coup de Coeur" category! 🌍✨ While our employees are already champions for biodiversity, we’re committed to equipping them with even deeper expertise. One of our proudest initiatives is our homemade internal online course, The Biodiversity Strikes Back—developed in-house by our very own experts. This course empowers our teams to understand and advocate even more for biodiversity, food’s impact on the planet, and key insights into preserving our ecosystems. Do we really need to say more about how harmful chemical pesticides are for our health and the environment? 🙃 Pesticide Action Network (PAN) Europe has just released research showing that banned pesticides are still making their way into European diets, contributing to health issues and biodiversity loss. But here’s the good news: organic food is the solution! 💚 Choosing organic means avoiding toxic pesticides while protecting our soils, water, and food.
