NextEnergy Solar Fund (NESF) reposted this
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA)'s latest World Energy Outlook, global electricity generation from solar will quadruple by 2030, and is expected to be the worlds largest source of electricity by 2033. 💡 What drives this growth? ▪ A key reason for this is because solar is the quickest form of new power generation to develop and build across most geographies. Global energy consumption continues to rise year on year, therefore rapid deployment in clean energy is fundamental to keep up with this rising demand. ▪ Solar is also the cheapest form of power generation, as a result of innovations in solar panel efficiency, manufacturing processes, and reductions in the cost of photovoltaic modules and systems, solar has become more accessible and easier to deploy at scale. ▪ Solar energy is considered a low-risk infrastructure asset class due to its stable irradiation levels, making it a dependable and efficient source of electricity. As a specialist solar+ expert, with an exemplary track record of over 17 years, NextEnergy Capital is well equipped to continue leading global growth in the solar industry. How does NextEnergy Solar Fund (NESF) generate revenue? NextEnergy Solar Fund (NESF) generates revenues through the sale of electricity to the markets and the subsidies provided under various subsidy regimes (ROC, NIROC and FiT). Both revenue streams are underpinned by two main factors: 1) The actual energy generated (measured as the amount of GWh of energy generated), which is mainly driven by the solar irradiation, technical performance and availability of the plant; and 2) The actual price at which the energy generated is sold to the markets, as well as the subsidies received for the same generation. See below how NESF converted solar irradiance for the year ended 31 March 2024!
