Low Carbon is pleased to announce that we have fully commissioned Fox Covert Solar Farm. The 23MW UK project in Buckinghamshire, UK has entered full operations by issuing the Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC).   This announcement follows the news that Low Carbon’s Ter Apel Solar Farm became our first Dutch site to reach this landmark moment.   Fox Covert Solar Farm has the capacity to generate enough renewable energy to power more than 10,000 homes and is expected to avoid approximately 10,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions annually. View more on Fox Covert here: https://lnkd.in/eZcZMqnR   To help deliver Fox Covert, Low Carbon have partnered with leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, EQUANS, with whom we are working closely together on a large portfolio of UK solar projects.   Low Carbon’s Managing Director of Portfolio Management, Steven Hughes said: “We are thrilled to have reached this major milestone for our first UK solar project since becoming an IPP. The project will play an important role helping decarbonise the local grid network, while delivering a series of biodiversity enhancements that will boost nature around the site. The successful delivery of Fox Covert has been achieved by working in lockstep with our partners, Equans, who are playing a vital role in helping us get as much renewable energy on the system as possible to fight climate change.”   Gregory Allouis, Energy Solutions Director at Equans UK & Ireland said: “On behalf of Equans UK & Ireland, I am pleased to announce that we achieved PAC at Fox Covert Solar Farm for our loyal customer Low Carbon. This important milestone in the life of a solar project was achieved in May 2024 and is testament to our excellent collaborative approach. Low Carbon have an ambitious strategy for the deployment of new solar assets in the UK; it is with the full commitment of our Equans Solar & Storage team that we will carry on delivering these critical assets for the UK economy and its communities, on the path towards Net Zero!”   Fox Covert Solar Farm is the first in a 5 GW pipeline of solar and battery projects that Low Carbon is currently developing in the UK. Low Carbon is the proud winner of the REA Renewable Energy Association Award for Financial Leadership. The award is recognition for our Arch Facility – creating funding solutions to support new renewable energy generation at scale. This award is testament to our innovative funding solutions that allow us to build renewable energy to fight climate change. Though our Arch Facility, Low Carbon secured £310m of finance from four leading international banks to support a 1GW of pipeline of solar projects in the UK and the Netherlands. The funding builds on the funding raised in 2022, and the combined £540m finance facility became one of the largest private construction-based facilities in Europe. Arch finances renewable projects that will create enough renewable energy to power up to 350,000 homes and avoid the equivalent 300,000 tonnes of CO2e. Low Carbon is on a mission. Together, we will power tomorrow. #Renewables #Investment #PoweringTomorrow

Low Carbon and Rezolv Energy have selected Vestas as the EPC partner for the first phase of Vifor Wind Farm in Buzău County, Romania. This first phase will install an impressive 192MW – with construction expected to be completed in 18 months. The initial installation will involve 30 Vestas V162 EnVentus turbines, each with a capacity of 6.4MW, standing tall at 166m with a rotor diameter of 162m. Read the full news: https://lnkd.in/emyXpUwT Vifor Wind Farm has a planned expansion to bring the completed wind farm to 461MW. Once completed it will be one of Europe’s largest onshore wind farms, generating clean energy for more than 270,000 homes and avoiding the equivalent CO2 emissions of more than 540,000 tonnes annually. This project is a major step forward in supporting Romania's climate targets and energy transition. The Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority recently gave the green light for construction, so we can anticipate Vifor Wind Farm to be operational before the end of 2025.
