We’re pleased to announce that Lightsource bp has officially entered the Japanese market with the acquisition of a 15MWp solar project in Hokkaido. 🇯🇵☀️ This marks an exciting step forward in our APAC growth journey, expanding our presence to 20 global markets. The Hokkaido project not only sets the foundation for our operations in Japan but also reflects our commitment to helping support the country’s energy transition. Lightsource bp’s solar projects Recognised for Sustainability Excellence  We’re proud to share that our Valle 3 and Valle 4 utility-scale solar projects have been awarded UNEF’s ‘Sustainability Excellence Certificate’, recognising our commitment to environmental and social responsibility in Spain’s solar sector. Located in Wamba (Valladolid), these projects will have a combined installed capacity of 330 MWp—enough to power over 148,000 households—and are set to become operational by 2027. Valle 3 and Valle 4 form part of a broader 500MW portfolio recently developed in Iberia and Lightsource bp is actively engaging with corporate energy buyers looking to secure competitively priced renewable power from projects with high sustainability credentials in 2025. American-made products, powered by solar   Lightsource bp’s187-megawatt Peacock solar project has come online near Corpus Christi, Texas. We are pleased to share that Lightsource bp has officially commenced construction on two major projects in Australia: the 585MWdc Goulburn River solar farm in New South Wales and the Woolooga Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Queensland. ☀️🔋🇦🇺 The Goulburn River solar farm is one of the largest single solar projects in NSW, set to generate enough clean energy to power the equivalent of over 225,000 homes annually while reducing carbon emissions by about 995,000 tonnes each year. The Woolooga BESS, co-located with our existing solar farm, will provide flexible storage for up to 640MWh of energy, supporting grid stability and energy reliability. Adam Pegg, Chief Operating Officer of Lightsource bp APAC, said:  “These projects showcase the power of firmed renewables – combining solar and battery storage to create clean, cost-effective, and reliable energy solutions.
