The recent Municipal Youth Dialogue in Damongo surfaced several key issues concerning the future of education in the municipality. One significant point raised was the need for a national education plan that remains consistent across governments, with an independent body overseeing its implementation to ensure continuity. Another key discussion point was the call for traditional institutions to take ownership of education to help drive improvement at the community level. Participants highlighted the importance of parents playing a stronger role in discipline, while also calling for a more comprehensive evaluation of teacher performance by GES, beyond just lesson notes. Although there have been improvements in access to education and infrastructure, the youth reaffirmed concerns from the Ghana Youth Barometer 2024 Report, pointing to challenges that still need to be addressed. These discussions are a step toward positive change for education in Damongo, with ongoing efforts to tackle these pressing issues. 100% for the Children CISU - Civilsamfund i Udvikling / Civil Society in Development — The Ghana Youth Barometer 2024 Report is an initiative of the Youth on Board project, a two-year project of YOTA, together with its implementing partner, 100% for the Children, with funding from the Danish Civil Society for Development Fund (CISU).
