Dear International Olympic Academy Participants Association (IOAPA) friends and family, It is with a heavy heart that I pen down these words to offer my deepest condolences to the family of Ulrich Rosen, our former IOAPA treasurer, an esteemed German brain scientist, and a passionate Tai Chi enthusiast who passed away on Oct 12th, 2023 due to sudden cardiac death. I regret never having taken the opportunity to join him in the early morning Tai Chi sessions he so lovingly organized during our last IOAPA In-Person Session earlier this year. His graceful movements mirrored the dedication he brought into every facet of his life. Although my personal encounters with Ulrich were limited, his influence was far-reaching. I vividly recall his speech at the International Olympic Academy, where he spoke of Olympism's essence, highlighting the joy achieved through 'argon' or efforts. It's a message that resonates deeply, reminding us of the sheer will and determination required to achieve any significant feat in life. His tenure as the former treasurer of IOAPA is a testament to his unwavering dedication. Ulrich's countless efforts in promoting Olympism and his steadfast commitment to IOAPA have left an indelible mark on us all. He was a beacon of inspiration, illuminating the path of service and dedication. For those wishing to pay your respects to Ulrich Rosen, kindly find the memorial link below.
