HAESL Welcomes Future Leaders for Immersive On-site Experience In early August 2024, #HAESL was proud to host a group of young professionals from across the Swire Group for an insightful onsite visit and orientation. The participants, comprising #SwireGroupManagementTrainees, #HAECOHongKongGraduateTrainees, and #HAECOHongKongSummerInterns, were given a comprehensive overview of HAESL's operations and legacy as a world-class #aviationMRO provider. Facilitated by the HAESL Learning and Development team, the visit featured a guided tour of the company's state-of-the-art workshop led by HAESL #GraduateTrainee alumni Kenneth Shuen and Peter Leung. At HAESL, we believe that the arrival of a new child is a profound and joyous occasion that deserves to be celebrated. The summer is here and finally the sun is out , and what goes better with summer afternoon than ice cream? As an Appreciation Treat for the "Best in the World, Best for the World" HAESL team, the Mister Softee truck was brought in during lunch, along with cartons full of frozen treats. Whether one preferred a cup of ice cream or a soft serve straight from the truck a delicious dessert was had by all. To show appreciation for our team, monthly Appreciation Treats will be arranged for our colleagues, as a little encouragement for us on our journey to the next record year. In June 2024, a group of F.4 and F.5 students visited HAESL under the St. James’ Settlement Career Sparkle IMPROVEd Youth Career BluePrint scheme, accompanied by teachers, programme staff and a government official. The purpose of the visit was for students to explore future career possibilities as they begin to ponder their next steps after leaving secondary school. The visitors were given an overview of HAESL’s background and world-class operations, briefed on safety protocols of visiting the workshop, and were then taken on a walking tour of HAESL’s Component Repair and Engine Overhaul departments by Vickie Li (Kitting Controller) and Robin Leong (Senior Engineer). The visitors appreciated the dynamic presentation, opportunities to interact with seasoned aviation professionals and seeing actual aircraft engines and maintenance facilities up close. On 11 June 2024, HAESL revived a tradition not celebrated since before the pandemic, by hosting the Hong Kong Red Cross for a blood drive. Setting up in the Phase V Rest Area for the whole day, the Red Cross team welcomed and processed the successful blood donation of 60 HAESL colleagues. Most donors registered upon seeing the prior announcements, but a good number of them also walked in according to their availability and did their parts. The spacious setup permitted perspective donors to proceed orderly through registration, tests as well as rest and recovery after their donation. It was also an opportunity for our colleagues to enjoy a meaningful little break in the course of a workday. After giving blood, each donor can enjoy snacks and drinks to replenish themselves, and also a small souvenir pin commemorating the occasion. Aspiring collectors among our colleagues may also look forward to more of them in a series in future company events. It is the goal of HAESL as an established and responsible member of the aviation industry in Hong Kong not only to excel in our area of expertise, but also to give back meaningfully and consistently to the society around us.
