SCOH seeks to inspire greater interest in marine conservation and encourage further measures to protect our seas. 🌱 Connecting with Urban Nature At Taikoo Place, Taikoo Square and Taikoo Garden feature over 260 native and exotic plant species, creating a green sanctuary for Quarry Bay residents and office tenant communities. These developments encourage a connection with nature and highlights the importance of biodiversity. Rural ecology and urban nature are both vital to our communities and to future generations. 【Hear from a Former Swire Summer Intern – Efsa Aktay】 Join us as we catch up with Efsa Aktay, our 2024 Swire Summer Intern, who gained invaluable experience working closely with industry leaders at the Swire Group last year. “I had the privilege of working with the Sustainability and QSE team at Swire Coca-Cola on a sustainability communications project. The internship provided an amazing opportunity to work closely and network with experienced professionals and senior executives. A highlight of the project was conducting staff engagement initiatives to foster greater awareness around sustainability. The internship also provided exposure to various operating companies within the Swire Group. I worked alongside fellow interns on a project proposing strategies to increase revenue for Swire Properties' retail portfolio. This project allowed me to build business acumen and improve my presentation skills, particularly when pitching our proposals to senior executives. "Last summer, I was seconded to Cathay Pacific in the Brand, Insight, and Marketing team. I contributed to two key projects: revamping seven membership webpages and supporting the 2024 Cathay Members’ Choice Awards. I also helped execute two high-value member events. Balancing these responsibilities, I managed my own business project, met team deliverables, and collaborated with my fellow interns on a business pitch to senior management at the end of the internship. The internship provided deep insights into Swire’s culture and diverse businesses through networking with business leaders and support from an SMP buddy. A team-building activity early in my role made me feel welcomed, while volunteering with fellow interns over a weekend further strengthened our bonds. 【Hear from a Former Swire Summer Intern – Yifei Wang】 Yifei’s journey with Swire started with the Swire Summer Internship Programme in 2023, which paved the way for his subsequent role as a Swire Management Trainee. During his eight-week internship, he was given the autonomy to plan and execute a business project. “The Swire Summer Internship Programme offered me a glimpse into the life of a Swire Management Trainee. I was seconded to the Cathay Pacific GBA office in the Intermodal Customer Experience Department, where I contributed to the development of two intermodal travel products. A major highlight was designing the invitation pass for the launch of the Cathay Pacific Shekou ferry port lounge. I handled responsibilities comparable to those of a Swire Management Trainee, collaborating with various stakeholders from the initial design ideation to the final printing stage. I am proud to say that my design is now the official lounge invitation pass used by The Cathay Pacific Shekou ferry port!
