🌟 Sharing ADB experience with Australian organisations in the Philippines Invited by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) Manila for the second consecutive year, Leighton Asia is proud to present our Asian Development Bank (ADB) experience at the 2024 Australian Mission to the ADB Business Opportunities Fair. 📝 The event successfully took place at the Australian Embassy in Manila and was attended by the representatives to 20 Australian organisations in earlier this month. David Dunworth, our General Manager – Philippines and India, shared key insights, best practices, and experiences gained from working with the Asian Development Bank across various project phases, highlighting Leighton Asia's involvement in the ADB-funded North South Commuter Railway Project 🛣️, where the company successfully secured two contract packages through ADB's procurement process. The event also featured representatives from multilateral banks, aid agencies, and government entities, who spoke on a range of topics aimed at helping the Australian delegation identify business opportunities and understand projects funded by international financial institutions. We are honored to be an active participant in such events, where it can showcase its extensive international and local expertise. 📢 Leighton Asia secures further data centre project in India 🌐 Leighton Asia has been awarded a contract to construct a data centre in Hyderabad, India, by a multinational technology corporation. The project is the second awarded to Leighton Asia by this major client and adds to our growing portfolio of data centres across the region in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Macau and the Philippines. The data centre is being delivered in joint venture with Sterling and Wilson and includes full civil, structural and architectural works, as well as the mechanical, electrical and plumbing fit out. Staying at the forefront of construction digitalisation ⚡ Our Digital Construction Manager, Robert Dickson BEng MSc CEng MICE, was recently invited to share his insights at the Digital Twin Leaders Summit organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) in Hong Kong. Together with other leaders in this area, he spoke about Leighton Asia’s journey of successfully implementing digital twins on our projects, and shared his views on the future of digital twin technology 📊. Our implementation of digital twins includes virtual representations of real assets, real-time data integration, virtual interaction with assets and a timestamped, as-built record of a project’s history. Our digital twin strategy supports our projects by improving analysis, decision-making, and forecasting, and mitigating risks and reducing waste. It also assists to improve safety, performance, and outcomes. 🏗️ Our recent award of the Shek Wu Hui Sewage Treatment Works project by the Hong Kong Government’s Drainage Services Department will establish the first real-time online digital twin optimisation system, demonstrating our core capability in this innovative technology and our commitment to sustainable development. ☀️ Meet our Wonder Woman 👷🏽♀️ Our Women in Construction series now features Gheanifa Irma Yustika, a Civil Engineer currently working on one of our data centre projects in Indonesia. Gheanifa originally joined our Indonesia team as a Graduate Engineer in 2021, soon after joining our Tangguh Expansion Project in Papua, Indonesia. At Leighton Asia, we aspire to offer expanded opportunities in the engineering and construction industry for women. Gheanifa believes that gender inclusivity starts with giving women the same opportunities when they have the qualifications and experience required.
