If you think the Olympics are exciting to watch, imagine the event on steroids. Literally. At the Enhanced Games, a global sports competition planned for 2025, athletes will be allowed to dope “out in the open and honestly.” Event organizers say that over 900 athletes have expressed interest, but retired Australian swimmer James Magnussen has so far been the only one to announce his participation publicly. TBWA’s cultural intelligence unit Backslash sat down with James to discuss what the reaction has been, how the Enhanced Games could give retired athletes a second shot at glory, and why it may actually be the first truly fair sports competition in decades. Specialists, experts, and enthusiasts all came together at the Omnicom Cove AI Science Fair for a deep-dive into their latest AI-powered innovations 🔮 TBWA\HAKUHODO’s Chief Creative Officer, Takahiro Hosoda, and Chief Operations Officer, Chris Iki shared their exciting collaboration with Nissan Motor Corporation: ‘Iruyo’—an adorable fuzzy children’s toy enhanced with AI, transforming those difficult car journeys with young children into smooth, enjoyable rides. Nissan installs its sensing technology in Iruyo, similar to the one they use for their vehicles, allowing the fuzzy robot to monitor both the children and parent. Iruyo can detect keyword commands as well as the facial expressions of both the parents and the children, allowing for two-way communication that calms anxious babies or notifies parents that their child is sleeping, for example. #OmnicomCannes #CannesLions2024 #TheDisruptionCompany
