We hope that everyone had a good Culture Night last Friday 🕺 🎭 When we are celebrating culture, let's not forget consent culture! Growing consent culture is important to us, so that people can have happy and healthy relationships.🌱 Consent culture empowers us to communicate openly, respect boundaries, and foster trust in our relationships. Together, we can shape a future where consent is understood, practiced, and valued every day! Thank you to our team member Amy Staudt for creating this inspiring animation.✨
We are thrilled to reflect on the success of our recent Report Launch for Higher Education and the Further Education & Training (FET) sectors! A heartfelt thank you to all the attendees, speakers, and partners who made the event a resounding success. A special thanks to the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Patrick O'Donovan for providing a video message. The support and engagement from all levels are crucial to fostering a culture of consent in education. ✨ Highlights from the Report: ✅ 94% of students who took part in a 1-hour in-person consent workshop said they learned something useful, and 90% would recommend it to their peers. ✅ 87% of the students who completed Active* Consent’s 40-minute eLearning resource agreed that it would help them to intervene in problematic situations involving their peers. ✅ 90% said that it would help them to support their peers if they have a negative sexual experience. We are calling for institutions in the Higher Education and Further Education & Training sector to ensure that: 🌟 At least 80% of incoming Higher Education students engage with consent education during their orientation or induction. 🌟 Further Education & Training learners should be supported to have access to the same level of consent education as is available for students in Higher Education. 🌟 All students receive consent education and sexual violence prevention at multiple points during their third level experience. Together, we can empower every student and learner to know that consent is Ongoing, Mutual, and Freely Given – for all relationships, genders and orientations. Consent is for everyone and for everything🙌 #ActiveConsent #ConsentEducation #HigherEd #FET #ReportLaunch #FutureGoals Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Department of Justice Lifes2good ThisIsFET Higher Education Authority University of Galway Galway Rape Crisis Centre Kerry Education and Training Board SOLAS (An tSeirbhís Oideachais Leanúnaigh agus Scileanna) City of Dublin ETB Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board Kerry College
