The role of Chief Executive Officer at Taighde Éireann - Research Ireland is open for recruitment. Research Ireland is an amalgamation of the functions of Science Foundation Ireland and the Irish Research Council, and will capitalise on the recognised strengths of these two agencies in driving world class research and innovation in Ireland. With the guidance of the Board, the CEO will be the driving force behind Research Ireland’s vision, strategy and management of the allocation of funding that advances knowledge and innovation in Ireland. The CEO will oversee the development and execution of funding programmes in alignment with national and international priorities across all disciplines, as well as enabling the agency to take a leadership role in fostering collaboration across the research and innovation system. Absolutely amazing day in the RDS for the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE) Its always a brilliant occasion to visit the exhibition to meet so many inspirational students with the projects in science, technology, engineering and maths. Delighted this year to be there as Minister for Further and Higher Education, Reaearch Innovation and Science and to present the Research Ireland award. Thanks to all the teachers, staff and parents but especially all the students without whom we would not have a Young Scientist Competition. Beir bua!
