💡 We’re excited to introduce Dr. Aine Rafferty a dedicated General Practitioner and Medical Educator, as our final 2024/2025 BioInnovate Fellow! 🎉 Dr. Rafferty brings a wealth of expertise to the BioInnovate Programme, with extensive experience across both surgical and medical specialties, from urology to community care. Driven by a commitment to enhancing patient care, she has achieved a range of postgraduate qualifications. During her Master’s in Clinical Education, Áine pioneered research on simulation training for doctors, a project she hopes to publish soon, which adapts techniques similar to those used in aviation for medical training. Áine’s impact extends deeply into medical education. In Northern Ireland, she has led projects that have shaped the learning experiences of hundreds of doctors and gained international recognition, with her team winning the ‘Exceptional Educator’ award in 2022. Her educational outreach has included social media and virtual platforms, which she uses to support both patient and doctor education. In her clinical role, Áine provides emergency and end-of-life care in GP out-of-hours services, where she also trains GP trainees. This position allows her to mentor the next generation of healthcare providers while serving her community. Áine looks forward to collaborating with the BioInnovate team to develop impactful, needs-based solutions in healthcare. 💼💡💉 #BioInnovateIreland #MedtechInnovation #HealthcareInnovation
