Last Wednesday, the Draiocht Theatre in Blanchardstown hosted the Coolmine Graduations for March. Twenty-three of our clients were recognised for their extraordinary courage and persistence through their recovery journey and have now successfully passed their programmes with Coolmine. A massive congratulations to all the graduates! Your hard work is an inspiration to us all! On what was an extremely moving evening, each graduate had the opportunity to share their stories of Recovery. Their words showed the impact that Recovery can have on an individual, their family and friends, and their community. These powerful narratives sent a message loud and clear that Recovery is Possible! We would also like to thank the wonderful Brent Pope for being present and giving an extremely moving speech about his own struggles with mental health. He also unveiled an ‘Elephant In The Room Movement ’ designed by and for the clients of Coolmine Lodge. This fantastic initiative helps to highlight the need to talk about mental health and not suffer in silence. The ‘Elephant’ was sponsored by our wonderful partners at CJK and we thank them always for their ongoing and committed support to Coolmine. We would also like to thank our Chief Executive Pauline McKeown and our Continuing Care Manager Paul Hatton for hosting on the night and all the Coolmine staff who lent a hand in setting up and making sure everything ran smoothly on the night. Women in Construction Week (March 2nd-8th) is a great opportunity to shine a light on the incredible women at CJK - like Nadine Doyle, a third-year electrical apprentice. From an early age, she knew she wanted to follow in her family’s footsteps and pursue a career in construction. What she loves most about her job is the variety—no two days are ever the same, and every day brings a new challenge. Her biggest motivation is to qualify as an electrician—and she’s well on her way, having just been named Apprentice of the Month. Congratulations Nadine! 👏 HR Manager Deborah Tighe still remembers recruiting her first female apprentice—one of the proudest moments of her career. She’s thrilled to see the number of female apprentices growing each year and is excited about the increasing opportunities for women in the industry. For EHS Advisor Amylouise Doyle, her role is all about creating a safer work environment. What keeps her motivated is knowing she’s making a positive impact on the team and that someone may have learned something valuable because of her. 😊 She’s excited about the future and hopes more women will seize the opportunity to help shape the industry. “Working with CJK, I’ve been hugely encouraged in my own career. We’re delighted to announce the successful completion of an upgrade project at the Sunflower Recycling Depot, located in Dublin’s North Strand. 👏 Works included electrical upgrade across 3 railway arches, and supply and M&E install of new toilet facilities and office units. Founded in 1995, Sunflower Recycling creates employment to over 50 long-term unemployed people through community employment, Full-Time Jobs Initiative, and the Social Employment Fund. 🌻   CJK are proud to support this impactful community initiative, which is making a real difference in the heart of Dublin’s Inner City.
