⚡ 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞! ⚡   H&MV Engineering is proud to have played a key role in the successful delivery of Zenobē’s Blackhillock Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)—Europe’s largest battery storage facility, now officially operational in Scotland. This 200MW / 400MWh project, expanding to 300MW / 600MWh in 2026, marks a major milestone in the UK’s journey toward a net-zero power grid by 2030.   As Principal Designer and Contractor, H&MV delivered a full scope of works, including: ✅ Design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of the 275 kV and 33 kV electrical network. ✅ Coordination of key infrastructure, including Power Conversion Systems, transformers, containerised batteries, HVAC, and fire suppression systems. ✅ Protection schemes, interlocking, controls, and metering systems—all tested and approved by SSE. ✅ Close collaboration with landowners, planning authorities, and the local community to ensure a seamless project delivery.   Blackhillock is a 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 in delivering Stability Services to the grid, making renewable power more secure and reliable for the future.   We’re incredibly proud to have contributed to this groundbreaking initiative and look forward to future projects that continue to drive the transition to sustainable energy. 💡🔋   #HMVEngineering #BatteryStorage #NetZero #RenewableEnergy #BESS #EnergyTransition #Sustainability

This strategic development enhances our ability to meet the growing demand for high-voltage engineering solutions across the region.   With 75 employees currently within our German entity and 50 additional staff supporting projects on-site, the new office is expected to create 130 new jobs over the next two years, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable growth and innovation in the German market.   The Frankfurt office will serve as a key hub for industry and innovation, strengthening our presence in Germany and allowing us to better support our clients with world-class engineering solutions. This expansion reflects our commitment to the German market and Europe as a whole, enabling us to play a crucial role in advancing the energy transition and sustainable development across the region.   For the official opening we were delighted to be joined by Billy Kelleher MEP, who acknowledged H&MV Engineering’s leadership in the energy sector and the importance of cross-border collaboration in building a more sustainable future. Earlier in the week we welcomed Paschal Donohoe, Irish Minister for Finance and President of the Eurogroup, to tour our new office. During his visit, Minister Donohoe engaged with our senior leadership, Declan Wynne, Managing Director Europe and 𝐃𝐫.
