Our Joint CEO Shauna McClenaghan and Team Lead for Resilience and Well-being Patricia Lee were delighted to gather with our Irish Local Development Network colleagues for the launch of the ILDN annual report by Minister of State for Department of Rural and Community Development Joe O'Brien on Tuesday morning as part of the Local Development Week 2024. The Minister heard about the positive impacts of the work of Local Development Companies around the country. The afternoon was spent in conversation with the Minister who kindly joined us for a worthwhile and informative roundtable discussion on Food Insecurity and Poverty. Shuana and Patricia then had the opportunity to present our recent research report spotlighting responses to food insecurity in Inishowen where they highlighted the positive work ongoing on the ground in Inishowen with our community partners. #ldw24 #ildn #collaboration #foodinsecurity #inishowen

Great to see the impact our ChangeMakers project is having in our County bringing people in our community together to promote sustainability.
🥕 🌽 Food. Soil. Conversation. Connection. 📽 That's what Friday's August Film Club was all about. Thanks to the 40-plus people who turned out during the Clonmany Festival to sit, eat, watch, reflect, talk, connect, and eat some more 🥗 . May this be the first of many more important community conversations about the soil beneath our feet and the food in our bellies. We would like to thank our partners Disappear Here Film Festival, our funder Concern Worldwide, and clonmanycommunitycentre for their continued support. A special thanks to Grainne O'Neill at Siolta Chroi, Monaghan, and to Kevin and Claire Moore at KPM Soils for partnering with us. We'd also like to thank Bronagh O'Kane, Soil Farmer of the Year Finalist 2023, for travelling from Cookstown, and a big thank you to Bernard de Ceuster of Muineagh Organic Farm for providing the beautiful, colourful, and nutritious food.
