Another busy Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Safety week at Leo Lynch. This week we welcomed Moya to our office to speak about environmental responsibilities. Earlier this year, while still in Transition Year, Moya partnered with Flossie and The Beach Cleaners and travelled to Indonesia to tackle marine pollution head-on. Through beach clean-ups, awareness campaigns, and hands-on action, she saw firsthand the impact pollution has on our oceans. This talk was eye-opening to everyone who tuned in and we all took something away from it. We also carried out a demonstration on controls of hazardous energies on-site - an important demonstration that ensures that teams work safely and carefully. A busy day for team Leo Lynch! This morning we had hands only CPR and choking demonstrations on-site across multiple locations as part of Construction Industry Federation (CIF) safety week. A big thank you to Paul Downes and Don McCarthy for demonstrating these life saving skills to our teams. This afternoon we took part in on online workshop on 'Understanding Heart Health' by Andrew Sheppard MSc, Clinical Lead at RediCare Control. Leo Lynch were delighted to welcome Louise Adamson from Michael’s Story to our head office and also on-site yesterday as part of our Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Safety week programme. Louise spoke bravely about the tragic loss of her brother Michael who sadly lost his life in an avoidable workplace accident which was caused by failings in health and safety leadership, culture, processes and practices and, the profound impact that this had on their lives.   Her hugely powerful and emotional message is one that reminds us of the vital importance of health and safety in the workplace.
