Did you know that the average tech worker checks slack every 7 minutes? Consider this your reminder that Slack is NOT a social media channel. (Not that we should be checking those every 7 minutes either but hey, it’s 2024 😅) In a notification, quick dopamine hit, screen filled world where everyone is always reachable, it can be really difficult to properly switch off from work. 👉 Turn notifications off on your phone for work apps when you’re not working (sounds like a lot but it literally takes 15 seconds) 👉 Don’t have work apps on your phone at all, or if this isn’t possible, ask if you can have a work phone, then you can separate it further. 👉 Set out of office/do not disturb notifications, not just for when you’re off, but also when you need time to focus. How often do you check Slack? #worklifebalance

Taking some time for yourself over the next month? There’s so much talk of work/life balance these days, but the statistics are still very one sided. 88% of UK employees have experienced burnout in the last 2 years. 1 in 3 people feel they don’t have a good work life balance. 50% of all employees who switched jobs in 2022, did so to achieve a better work life balance. 82% of Brits do not take a full lunch break, with two thirds of workers eating lunch at their desk most days. Things have got to change. Here’s our top 3 tips to ensure you’re taking a proper break on your upcoming summer holiday and not just thinking about work. Set boundaries for your phone. Yes, we know this one can be hard. But airplane mode isn’t just designed for the time between take off and landing. Be sure to disconnect and be where your feet are. Whether that’s chasing your kids on the beach or relaxing and reading a book in the sun while sipping a beer. Recognise that being unproductive is productive. Sounds cliche, but it’s true. You need to actually allow yourself to do something you enjoy, whether that’s hitting a session at the gym in the hotel, going for a morning swim, having a lie in til 11am, whatever it is, cut yourself some slack. Now is the time to do it. Get out of your head and into your body. Whatever kind of holiday or break you’re going on, the benefits of physical activity go beyond just looking good in the mirror. Take some time to break a sweat and move your body. You’ll feel better for it and be much more present. What boundaries do you put in place to ensure you’re properly taking a break from work on your holidays? #worklifebalance #burnout

Gents. This is a tough conversation, but one we all need to have... Whether you feel foggy in the mornings and struggle to concentrate, notice you’re not as muscly as you once were or perhaps occasionally struggle with getting in the mood, these could all be signs that your testosterone levels aren’t as high as they should be 📉 With studies showing testosterone levels declining in men over the last few decades, many men are living a less fulfilling and lower quality life without knowing it. If you want to find out more, learn the ways in which you can boost your levels and improve your life, join us at 6pm on June 26th for a FREE remote webinar on Zoom with leading expert and ex pro rugby player, Dr Emmett Byrne, hosted by our founder, Emmett Kilduff 🤝 The attendees will all remain anonymous and there will be a Q&A session at the end to ensure everyone is comfortable and gets the most out of the session. Find out more and sign up below https://lnkd.in/dQyz7Ynf #menshealth #testosterone #webinar

Ever wondered why men’s health needs more attention? Consider this: Men have a 41% higher mortality rate than women. Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 45..  41.6% of men over the age of 20 in the US are obese. It’s International Men’s Health Week this week, but what does that really mean? We’ll tell you what it doesn’t mean. Talking about going to the gym, making a smoothie, popping some painkillers for that shoulder injury you’ve had for a bit too long… It’s about prevention, making sustainable changes and forming new habits to improve your life. No, you don’t need to become Giga Chad, podcast bro Superman overnight (if you want to, we’ll cheer on from the sidelines though). It’s about those small, daily wins – getting up 30 mins earlier to walk to work instead of driving, cooking dinner with your partner instead of sitting on the sofa individually scrolling while waiting for Uber Eats, taking the stairs instead of the escalator, skipping the beer for a soda water once or twice a week, spending 20 minutes reading before bed instead of rewatching that funny episode of whatever sitcom you’re binge-watching now. And no, don’t tackle everything at once. Start with one aspect of your life that needs the most attention. The rest will follow. As for which aspect to figure out and choose? We’ve sorted that for you. Meet The Wheel of Life: six important facets of life that, when optimized individually, create a balanced and fulfilling life. Which will you be taking action on this week? #MensHealthWeek #Pitstop #HealthyHabits #LifeBalance
