Sustainability meets spookiness at The Galmont Hotel & Spa! 🎃 Huge thanks to Adriana Taheny & Fiona Walsh in our HR team for leading our eco-friendly Halloween décor challenge. From upcycled "Ghost-mont Hotel" to spooky recycled masterpieces, we’re celebrating green this Halloween!
🎃 Practicing what we preach in sustainability means staying committed, even in the little things—like Halloween decor! At The Galmont Hotel & Spa, Galway , achieving our Gold Status with Green Tourism wasn’t just a one-time effort. It’s a pledge we carry forward, led by innovative thinkers like Fiona Walsh, who ensured we honoured Halloween sustainably without losing the festive spirit. 🎉 Pumpkin carving may be a classic, but it’s not the most eco-friendly choice: from the waste of unused pumpkin parts, the methane emissions from rotting pumpkins, to the carbon footprint in transport, there’s a bigger impact than we may think. This year, Fiona took the reins with a recycled Halloween décor challenge, where team members crafted eerie masterpieces from reusable materials only. 👻 Huge congratulations to our talented winners: First Place: Grainne’s "Ghost-mont Hotel," a haunting model made from kitchen finds like a shoebox, newspaper, and packaging scraps. Joint Second: Daria’s Grim Reaper, crafted from tin foil, old shirts, and bags, and Ren’s "Spooky Night Forest," with origami spiders and bats made from recycled paper scraps. Each piece reflected our commitment to green values, reminding us that even small actions can reinforce the promises we make to ourselves, our guests, and our planet. Thank you to Fiona Walsh and everyone who took part – you've all raised the bar for sustainable spirit! 🌎✨
