Tomorrow night we’ll welcome the new Jewish year (Rosh Hashana). Last week, we had the chance to host two professional work groups in #Agtech and #Renewable_Energy: The first one, the construction of Renewable Energy Facilities special forum, by the Sustainable Energy Division at The Ministry of Energy, brought together entrepreneurs to discuss different aspects of regulation, ways to promote the renewable energy sector, and to learn from the real experience of the entrepreneurs. Electrification has an excellent alternative that is also zero-emission - green hydrogen-based energy. But unlike electricity, we don't have a green hydrogen network everywhere. To create such a network, we need supply, demand, and a connection between them; right now, everything is costly. HydRoad is a unique system that uses existing infrastructure and technologies to produce, store, and transport green hydrogen on roads and highways, thereby turning the vision of a world based on renewable energy into a reality and making green hydrogen accessible to everyone. HydRoad offers a system that receives energy from the sun, transports it on roads, and provides green hydrogen to end consumers along the way, and at any time they need it. This week we hosted a special founder-for-founders session. We got some inspiration from hearing the story of the one and only, Saar Safra, CEO and Co-Founder of Beewise. 🐝 He shed light on his journey including important milestones such as entering the Agtech sector, finding the right challenge, building a team, go to market, and of course, about bees... 🐝🐝🐝 Thank you, Saar! Here are a few key facts about the enormous potential of carbon farming, presented at the event yesterday: 🌱Agricultural soils have lost 25 to 75% of their soil carbon content over 150-200 years. 🌱Around 10 Gt of CO2e Are emitted each year by AFOLU activities (~20% of global emissions) AFOLU = Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use. 🌱Around 8 Gt of CO2 Of global GHG emissions could be captured in soils every year (~15% of global emissions) 🌱Soils hold 3X more carbon than the atmosphere. 🌱Yet... agriculture only represents 1% of all carbon credits issued. The case studies presented are the starting point for this sector, but there is a lot more to do.
