With Zencity, local government leaders budget, build trust, and take action based on community input.

About us

Local governments are the beating heart of a well-functioning society. But community trust—the currency of governance—is broken. The reason? High barriers to participation, inconvenient and contentious meetings, and outdated approaches to solicit input end up emphasizing the voices of the few and excluding the many. We call this the “STP” (Same Ten People) problem, and it’s standing in the way of effective governance. Cut out from the conversation is everyone else: the busy parent with no time to attend a city council meeting, the young adult who relocates every year, the recent immigrant who isn’t comfortable speaking in public, and many others. Without a clear, comprehensive, and inclusive understanding of what residents want and need, local government leaders are operating at a disadvantage. Their decisions are not as informed as they could be, and residents are left feeling discounted and unheard. Government organizations that continue to operate with such a limited view risk undermining the very thing that matters most: the trust of the people they serve. The solution is Zencity.

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) provides a historic opportunity for state and local governments to invest in their communities, but equitable and effective allocation of these funds is crucial. By engaging with the community, making data-driven decisions, maintaining transparency, focusing on sustainable impact, and collaborating with stakeholders, local governments can ensure these funds address systemic inequalities and promote long-term resilience. https://lnkd.in/gpxkaXR6

It's all about people! Not algorithm hacks or AI optimization. Create content people want to see Not what they see on TV commercial breaks. Yesterday, while Mayor Warren was at the United States Council of Mayors in Kansas, I received a text and PDF from her. Why is this so cool to me? Two reasons: 1. Proof of results to combat the infamous imposter syndrome we all experience. Seeing such positive metrics for Mayor Warren's social media compared to mayors from similar-sized cities was awesome. It's evidence of the work and dedication we've put into creating content that matters to her community. 2. It's a Zencity presentation, not mine. The idea that someone else analyzed data from different online channels and created a presentation about how well the content we create is doing. It's like being fact-checked or verified. Overall it shows that when we focus on people and meaningful content, the results speak for themselves. When was the last time you were proud of the work you've done?
