𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐫- 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐉𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 As the situation in Israel is escalating following yesterday's massive attack by the Iranian regime on Israel's territory, many of us might experience confusion, stress, fear, and other reactions and symptoms that affect our well-being. Similarly, children might experience these feelings and reactions and will require our assistance in addressing current events. Whether it is in Israel as the threats mount or across Jewish communities with the heightened fear of antisemitic and anti-Israel hate, protests, and violence- these times bring upon us a new situation we will need to address on a personal level and to our family and community members. JReady offers a range of media and written material to help mitigate these challenges. in the comments is a proposed list of resources. Please visit our website for more information, and contact us if you or your community require further assistance: www.JReady.org JReady@jafi.org We are grateful for the support messages we've received from communities and individuals from the JReady network for the last day; our unity strengthens our resilience.

Traumatic events can occur when a person is directly experiencing a traumatic event, or when witnessing or learning that the event has happened to a loved one. War exposes the entire population to a prolonged state of imminent threat, in other words, a “continuous traumatic threat”. The response to exposure to a continuous threat has broad systemic effects, including cognitive, emotional, physiological, and behavioral domains. This helpful guide from NATAL explains how to cope with exposure to trauma and difficult graphic content. 🔗Check out our Swords of Iron resource page on the JReady website for this and other helpful tips on dealing with our current situation: https://lnkd.in/eKU3-JBv

We are honored to introduce new resources by EmotionAid. This is a PPT guide for therapists with recommendations for managing traumatic experiences in wartime. Living through war and facing drastic spikes in antisemitism may, unfortunately, lead to an increased need for support. Supporting people during difficult times is always important, but this is especially true for those who have experienced the traumatic events of the war, either directly through the fighting or as someone who was hit by or exposed to an attack on civilians; the causes of the trauma can be diverse. This informative presentation includes helpful do's and don'ts for professional therapists helping individuals who are dealing with trauma. A huge thank you to EmotionAid for their partnership and resources! https://lnkd.in/dt-vPvnh

JReady is commited to helping #Jewish people and communities around the world deal with #crisis and manage disasters. In these difficult times, adults and children are both experiencing stress, fear, and other concerning feelings about #safety. As parents and caregivers, it is our job to stay regulated ourselves, to help our children understand the complexities of our reality and be a pillar of support for them. This resource, provided by our partners from the CSPC || Community Stress Prevention Center || מרכז משאבים in Kiryat Shemona, gives a comprehensive guide on how to speak to children about current events and the security situation.
