Open protocol for decentralized digital economy

About us

Beckn Protocol is an open specification that creates a common language for interoperability among different digital platforms and networks for facilitating economic transactions, similar to HTTP for the internet or SMTP for emails. Modelled on the design principles of openness, interoperability, and decentralization, the technology and sector-agnostic protocol enables all aspects of digital commerce transactions, from discovery to post-fulfilment activities. Beckn is an effort to make the Internet a ‘small-business-friendly’ place. Since the protocol eliminates the need for demand-side and supply-side actors to be on the same platform, it expands the pool of prospective market players that can be reached for both sides. It allows for open commerce sans the big gatekeepers, thereby democratising digital commerce. The Foundation for Interoperability in Digital Economy (FIDE) is the author of the open protocol and it engages with businesses, governments/policy makers and civil societies across the world to drive the adoption of the Beckn Protocol as a digital public good (DPG) to create inclusive digital commerce ecosystems.
