Here’s a recap of what our torchbearers had to say: 🌱 Bharath Shankar Ganapathy explored the concept of an interoperable grid to empower farmers and combat climate change. He highlighted the VISTAAR and OpenAgriNet (OAN) initiatives—advancing farmer support and promoting efficient, sustainable farming practices. 🚉 Anirban Sinha spotlighted the shift from platforms to protocols in mobility services, using Namma Yatri as a key example. He emphasized how this shift is enabling collaborative, sustainable urban transportation systems that prioritize inclusivity and seamless user experiences. 📦 Sindhuja Sampath Kumar underscored the need for standardization and interoperability in the logistics sector to tackle the rapid growth of e-commerce. She stressed the importance of interconnected systems in modernizing supply chains and fostering eco-friendly, efficient logistics operations. 🔐 Ravi Prakash discussed how layered digital infrastructure can create a secure ecosystem for a decentralized digital economy. He emphasized the role of open standards and the move from domain-specific to domain-agnostic design as drivers of innovation. We have seen the impact of network thinking on e-commerce (ONDC) and mobility (Namma Yatri). But what about energy? In this episode with Nikhil Kamath, Nandan Nilekani shares his vision for the Unified Energy Interface #UEI — an open network approach to energy transactions, powered by a universal protocol like Beckn. Why does this matter?  Because UEI could be the key to a unified future for clean energy, bridging all the scattered and isolated energy efforts into a common fabric or an interconnected mesh. This cohesive network can then create ripple effects that can make green energy a norm, boosting climate action in ways we have not seen before. What does this look like in real life? UEI allows energy trading of all kinds, in all directions. For example, someone with solar panels on their roof can sell extra energy back to the grid, or even trade it with their neighbours who can use it to charge their EV. It can also let you source green energy from EV charging operators! Best of all, the network is open to everyone. Individuals, small prosumers, local distribution companies and major organizations can all get involved and trade energy — creating new solutions like idle battery monetization. Early innovators like Pulse Energy are already making unified EV charging a reality through UEI in India. Ministry of Power just released their latest EV charging guidelines today. One of the interoperability protocols suggested by MoP is Unified Energy Interface (UEI) 🚀🚀🚀🚀 Getting MoP to recommend UEI alongside existing interoperability protocols is a testament to all the hard work everyone at Unified Energy Interface Alliance has done over the past two years.
