We’ve just hit an exciting milestone! 🎉 We have successfully raised a round of pre-seed funding! This support means so much to us, as it allows us to continue our journey of making sustainability a part of everyday life. With this funding, we’ll be able to provide even greater market access for artisans and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) across India, empowering them to grow and thrive. As our founder, Chaitsi Ahuja, says, “This funding helps us scale our mission of reaching the next million customers while expanding our artisan-to-consumer (A2C) model. We’re deeply committed to building stronger partnerships with artisan communities, helping them embrace the digital space and making sustainable living the new norm.” We are incredibly grateful to have people who believe in this movement and want to do good for our planet. Together, we’re not just creating a business but a community that cares—for the Earth and for each other. 💚 Dooj Ramchandani Blink Digital, Sanjay Nayar, Founder and Chairman of Sorin Investments, and investor Bharat Iyer, Chaitsi Ahuja, Zashank Bhatia, Pragya Kapoor, Varun R Ahuja Vedika Kshatriya

Dussehra marks the victory of good over evil, a festival where we celebrate the defeat of Raavan. But in today’s world, our biggest villain isn’t a mythical figure—it’s plastic. While we burn effigies every year, the real Raavan, plastic, keeps growing stronger, damaging our planet bit by bit. This Dussehra, let's rethink who the real enemy is. It's time to tackle plastic pollution with the same spirit of victory. Wishing you a planet-friendly Dussehra! #brownlivingindia #shoponlysustainable #dussehra #sustainabledussehra Chaitsi Ahuja

Some people leave a mark on the world that time cannot erase. Ratan Tata was one of those rare souls. His passing has left an undeniable void in the hearts of millions. He wasn’t just a leader—he was a guiding light, showing us how to lead with compassion, purpose, and humility. He believed in a world where progress didn’t come at the planet’s expense. Whether it was pioneering electric vehicles at Tata Motors, pushing for renewable energy with TATA Power, or transforming lives through Tata Trusts, Ratan Tata always thought about the bigger picture—making the world a better, kinder place. His legacy isn’t just about the success of Tata Group. It’s about how he wove sustainability into everything he touched, proving that business can thrive while caring for the people and the planet. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary leader, it’s on us to carry his vision forward. Let’s honor his legacy by building a future that balances progress with responsibility—just as he taught us. Rest in peace, Ratan Tata. Your work will continue to inspire us all. 💚

Durga Puja is where tradition meets creativity, and this year, one celebration is pushing the boundaries even further. The beauty of nature comes alive, but with a twist: the entire structure is made from discarded clothes, turning waste into art. Behind this incredible initiative is Sujata Chatterjee, an electrical engineer turned social entrepreneur. Through her social enterprise, Twirl.store, Sujata has been upcycling urban waste to benefit rural communities for over seven years. The pandal took nearly 10 months to create, and every detail—from the decor to the lights—was made using upcycled materials, like old clothes from the local community and even discarded bamboo. What makes this even more special is the community effort. Over 2,500 people from the Golf Green neighborhood donated their unwanted clothes to bring this idea to life, showing that nothing is really waste if we think creatively. The project is not just a celebration of Durga Puja but also a celebration of sustainability, inclusivity, and community spirit. The theme, Amader Prithibi, Amader Pujo (Our Earth, Our Puja), perfectly captures the message. Read about this pandal at - https://lnkd.in/dQJq-6V7 The Hindu TWIRL.STORE Sujata Chatterjee

This quote really hits home, especially today. We live in a world where we often take more than we need—from nature, from others, and from the future. But if we keep going at this pace, we’re going to run out of what’s most precious to us. The truth is, the planet gives us everything we need to live a good life—clean air, water, food, and so much more. Yet, we’re constantly pushing the limits, taking more than we can give back. Instead of taking more, let’s focus on enough. Here are some small, meaningful changes we can make that really add up : → Wearing Indian handloom, like khadi or cotton, not only keeps our heritage alive but also supports local artisans. → Buying local produce means fresher food, fewer food miles, and a stronger connection to the farmers who nourish us. → Something as simple as carrying a reusable water bottle helps cut down on plastic waste while on the go. → Switching to natural cleaning products, like using lemon or vinegar, is better for our homes and the planet. → And by reducing food waste—cooking just what we need and composting the rest—we can preserve the earth’s resources for future generations. These swaps are are a conscious effort to protect our planet for generations to come! The best part? We don’t have to do it perfectly, we just have to start. Happy Gandhi Jayanti 💚

This Fruity Leather is Taking the Fashion World by Storm! It's Pineapple Leather or Pinatex. It’s gaining popularity in the fashion world as a sustainable alternative to traditional leather. But what makes Pinatex special? It's created from the fibers of pineapple leaves, which are a byproduct of pineapple farming. This process helps reduce waste and gives farmers an additional source of income. Pinatex is a vegan product, meaning no animals are harmed in its production. This makes it a great choice for those who want to avoid animal products while still enjoying the look and feel of leather. Designers are using it in their collections, showing that sustainability can be both stylish and functional. Many consumers are looking for eco-friendly options, and Pinatex meets that demand while offering unique designs. A recent feature by Deccan Chronicle covers this in much more depth! https://lnkd.in/dPsB9_sS Check comments to explore truly sustainable Pinatex products available on Brown Living!

Today on World Tourism Day coming up, let’s take a moment to think about how our travel choices affect the environment. Here are 5 simple ways you can help our planet relax on your next trip: #1 Carry a Reusable Bottle Ditch the plastic bottles! Today is a reminder that the choices we make daily have a direct impact on our planet and our health. As we navigate through our busy lives, it’s easy to overlook the effect our household products have on the environment. For example, every time we wash our clothes or clean our homes, we might be sending toxic substances down the drain. These chemicals end up in our water systems, polluting our scarce water bodies. But there is good news! There are eco-friendly cleaners available that use natural enzymes to break down stains and odors, making them effective without the harmful side effects. When we use these products, we can often recycle the grey water generated from our laundry. This means that instead of going to waste, this water can be used to water our plants, gardens, or lawns. Today as we celebrate World Environment Health Day, let’s commit to making conscious choices that benefit both ourselves and the environment. Remove toxins not only from your home but also from our earth. Check the link in comments to explore environment-friendly cleaning supplies.
