The 2nd SPARKS Research Exchange, organized by The Brookings Institution and hosted by Education for Sharing in Mexico, brought together global partners, Dream a Dream (India) and Foundation for Self-Discovery and Development (Egypt). A key highlight of the event was the deep engagement of all education actors—teachers, students, parents, and community partners. Witnessed remarkable teacher commitment—educators shared their experiences on pedagogy, classroom practices, and the implications of education policies at Mexico. Parents, often the silent actors, actively participated, offering insights into their awareness and perspectives on existing policies and their hopes for the future of education. A Cross-Cultural Learning Experience - Through school visits and interactive sessions, we exchanged insights across diverse education landscapes. One common thread emerged—culture and ecosystem shape pedagogical practices globally. The exchange created space for teachers, students, parents, and community partners to come together and engage in dialogue on their unique contexts, expectations, and perspectives on education. Discussions centered around classroom practices, policy implications, and the systemic challenges. Joseph Thomas from Dream a Dream, have participated and engaged in these discussions, listened and shared experiences from respective contexts. The SPARKS project continues to reaffirm that sustainable transformation in education relies on bringing all actors together—ensuring that those closest to learning have a voice in shaping its future. Looking forward to continuing these conversations and co-creating spaces that truly reflect the voices of those at the core of education!
