    Lürzer's Archive x Good Ads Matter What is one thing that is more fragile than porcelain? Life. Over a decade ago, Nissan launched a campaign, both staggering and tender at the same time, that continues to be remembered among some of the most creative road safety campaigns to date. While another set of prints from this very campaign–that we shared a while ago–communicated the fragility of life through distracting, inanimate objects, this one introduces us to old man Harvey and Jenna. In an attempt to remind us of how tender our life is, and, of course, to advertise Nissan Sentra and its six airbags technology, the brand adopted a unique, unexpected approach that no one saw coming–all the more reason it has stuck with us through all these years. No car in the frame, no need for speed, just a human being juxtaposed with a Chinese Ming Vase.     Bringing back this iconic brand feud this Rum month! Pepsi’s #BetterWithPepsi campaign has been all about reminding Coca-Cola enjoyers that it is all better with a can of Pepsi. Last year, studies showed them an exalting analysis that helped them successfully lean from fast food to alcohol for National Rum Month. When a blind taste test experiment proved that 56% of the participants preferred mixing their rum with Pepsi to Coca-Cola, the brand found the numbers too good to not make an enticing campaign out of! Akin to their last #BetterWithPepsi print ad, the only difference here was the shift from Wendy’s, Burger King and McDonald’s to Captain Morgan and Bacardi! Almost the weekend, right? And yes, you might want to read it again! #GoodAdsMatter In a playful twist, Pizza Hut launched a cheeky Digital OOH campaign titled ‘People who like Dominoes love Pizza Hut.’ The multinational pizza chain humorously declared itself as ‘The Official Sponsor of Dominoes’ ahead of a major tournament, and honestly, its attention grabbing. This campaign is a significant part of Pizza Hut’s broader ‘Together We Pizza’ initiative, where they also introduced their new sourdough-style handcrafted crust.     Combining tradition and road safety during Mexico’s “Day of the Dead.” #GoodAdsMatter Every year, countless lives are lost on the roads of Mexico, often due to inadequate road signs or drivers’ disregard for them. In response, Chevrolet took a creative and culturally resonant approach. They crafted road signs using the same ornate designs, techniques, and materials traditionally used for ofrendas—those beautiful altars created to honour the departed during the Day of the Dead. The Day of the Dead is more than a tradition in Mexico; it’s a deep-rooted cultural event. In its latest campaign, the brand exploits the ubiquity of idioms to bridge that little gap between people and a more comfortable life. Who would have thought a whole enticing campaign could come out of ditching that spacebar! Chic art direction and witty copywriting, this clever package of a campaign is set to be distributed primarily on Instagram–aiming to reach for the stars, and, of course, higher impressions, by even inviting viewers to participate in a UGC and share their own take on the narrative!
