The village of Pappankuzhi is located in the Sriperumbudur Block of Kanchipuram District in Tamil Nadu. While farming has traditionally been the main source of livelihood, many villagers have turned to alternative jobs due to dwindling profits in agriculture. The villagers has been facing a severe water crisis, relying on Thenneri Lake for their needs. In response, E.F.I had initiated efforts to support the villagers and enhance agricultural development by restoring Rajanthangal Lake in Pappankuzhi. Tutigreen is an EFI initiative aimed at establishing the first of its kind interactive environmental platform in a literature festival. A live working exhibit of Southern India’s unique landscape and habitats, a walk through gallery on birds and endangered animals. An opportunity to make seed pods of rare trees, learn pottery and handicraft made of palm. To watch documentaries on nature, play a quiz and cycle to lakes of Thoothukudi.
