Being an umbrella organization, IFGE represents the interests of the national renewable energy sector in its totality – bio energy, solar, wind, hydro, tidal, geothermal, etc. IFGE focuses on the area of Green Energy with the mission of promoting energy security in a sustainable manner in every sector of economic development. Further it is evident that transitioning to low-carbon systems can bring about economic growth with a sustainable approach. The falling costs of renewable energy, ambitious government plans for rapid deployment of renewable energy and increasing financial support from international governments and investors all indicate that the transition to a low-carbon economy is not only possible, but already underway. Hence, the objective of IFGE is also to promote India's view point on economic development without compromising on the global issue of climate change.
