An honour for Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited to sponsor and support the A P C Ray Science Society, Durgapur, named after the much-revered and respected (Late) Dr. Prafulla Chandra Ray, CIE, FNI, FRASB, FIAS, FCS (2 August 1861 – 16 June 1944) an Indian chemist, educationist, historian, industrialist and philanthropist of eminence. He established the first modern Indian research school in chemistry (post classical age) and is regarded as the #FatherOfIndianChemistry. The Royal Society of Chemistry honoured his life and work with the first ever Chemical Landmark Plaque outside Europe. He is the author of 'A History of Hindu Chemistry' from the 'Earliest Times to the Middle' of the Sixteenth Century (1902). Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited aims at encouraging scientific culture and cultivating scientific outlook, popularization of science and different forms of general science programmes within the student’s community. Partnering with A P C Ray Science Society, Durgapur, which organizes Science Competitions every year since 2011, was an honour and we look forward to our continued partnership in the years to come.
