  • Throwback to Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, New Delhi a special project for us in many regards. Located in between Safdarjung Airport and the Safdarjung Tomb, the architecture of Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan responds to its contrasting contexts. The low-rise structure thoughtfully respects the surrounding heritage while seamlessly integrating innovative functionality. Designed with offices ‘floating’ over stilted walkways and expansive landscaped courtyards the building creates a unique quality and inviting environment for workspaces. The building is the headquarters of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India. Amongst one of our earliest projects, the design of Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan also earned us our second JK Architect of the Year Award in 1995, marking a significant milestone in our journey.

  • Our design approach for the second phase of the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi campus in Delhi looked at creating an architectural style that would compliment the existing buildings yet have a bold impact of its own. Seen here is the R&D Block which houses lecture halls, labs, discussion and meeting rooms, faculty rooms and office spaces amongst others. The building features the use of vertical elements to build a rhythm while breaking the monotony of a long building façade.

Every day, we uphold our responsibility as architects to shape a sustainable future, recognizing that collective action holds the key to meaningful change. On this Earth Day, we pause to honor the precious gift of our planet and reflect on our role in its preservation. We’re proud to spotlight a project that exemplifies our enduring dedication to sustainability. The UIDAI Headquarters in New Delhi was our first GRIHA 5-star rated project, and is a deservedly unique example of energy-efficient and sustainable architecture in the city. From the use of fly-ash bricks and AAC blocks to reduce embodied energy, to green walls creating a micro-climate, and triple glazing serving as a protective skin every aspect of the building was meticulously thought about to minimize the building’s impact on the natural environment. Additionally efficient space planning of the office floor plate, and sustainable site planning strategies such as preserving and re-using the top soil in the landscape, along with water management and energy optimization strategies were implemented to considerably reduce the building’s impact as compared to the GRIHA benchmark.
