All of us at STRAW India are delighted that our Compassionate Classroom Program & Workshop was chosen and featured on CNN International, as part of their Call to Earth Day 2023 celebrations on November 28, 2023. Thank you OPG World School for hosting us and giving us an opportunity to conduct our program for your very enthusiastic students of class 5. And yes, the puppies were the stars of the program as children loved interacting with them and at the same time getting sensitized to being #compassionate and #empathetic to #straydogs.

This International Dog Day, let’s celebrate the loyalty, resilience, and unique charm of our Indian dog breeds. While foreign breeds may be popular, they often struggle with the climate and require specialized care. Our Indian breeds, like the Indian Pariah dog, Rajapalayam, and Kombai, are naturally adapted to our environment. Another successful Compassionate Classroom at Laurus, the School of Excellence, where we reached out to over 350+ students! The children were deeply engaged in an eye-opening session about the street life of dogs, learning about their daily struggles and hardships. They put themselves in the paws 🐾 of dogs and truly felt their pain, which inspires them to take meaningful action. Each student vowed to help at least one animal in their neighborhood by providing food and water. The kids shared stories about the animals they see daily and expressed a new found commitment to step up for the animals. We'd like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to @gosharpener and Laurus school of Excellence for this wonderful opportunity. A big thank you to @helpanimalsindia for their continuous support. Today, 80 to 90 wonderfully enthusiastic students at the Global Edge School, Hyderabad, participated in our flagship Humane Education Program, Compassionate Classroom. They learned about the daily struggles of street dogs in India, empathized with their challenges and pledged to become animal ambassadors and take today’s learning forward by caring for the community animals in their neighborhoods. They also understood that as a community, we must care for and provide these animals with the basic necessities to survive. We at STRAW.India were deeply moved by the compassion these children of the next generation showcased and were inspired by their commitment to work towards making a positive change. Special thanks to GoSharpener and Global Edge School for inviting us to make this event possible. A heartfelt #ThankYou to @helpanimalsindia for their continued support. Together, we look forward to making a big difference in the attitude of children towards animals and to be able to bring about the much-needed change in the country.
