For small batch ceramics and regular pottery classes for kids & adults. Corporate workshops, kids events and residencies

About us

The Clay Company is an artist owned studio teaching pottery and producing handcrafted small-batch ceramics for retail as well as hotels/restaurants. We started out in a tiny ceramics studio tucked away in the most unlikely of places - the bustling electronics market of Nehru Place in New Delhi. Today we also have a studio in Gurugram - a relaxed bohemian space with a strong Mediterranean vibe - an oasis of creativity and fun within the concrete jungle of NCR! Here we have a separate pottery studio for adults, a separate one for kids and a ceramics. Our outdoor space is ideal for pottery in the sun or alfresco dining for a special event. Corporates are a big part of our customer base - we have worked with various companies such as Google, DE Shaw, etc and used pottery as a medium for team building at leadership events, management trainee programs, and corporate family get-togethers. We also offer corporate offsites to places such as Rishikesh, Sariska, etc where teams can spend a few days learning and making pottery as well as addressing their business agendas. We express our passion through every piece that has our name on it, through every lesson we impart to our students. Our philosophy is inclusive – in our classes, we welcome beginners and in our production line, our aesthetic gathers inspiration from across the globe. ‘Experience’ in general is important to us – it’s what we aim to perfect. Whether it’s how you feel when you are in our studio, or when you use one of our products, we aim to create a special and enjoyable experience for you each time – one that embodies a deeper story of craftsmanship, creativity, and just simple joy! Our team is a small group of like-minded people who enjoy each other's company, have an eye for detail and work together to create a happy place that produces delightful experiences and objects of beauty. We are about simplicity, creativity, experimentation, and beauty.

I took my mom to a networking event yesterday.  (And I wish I had done it sooner) She turned 52 last week and runs a small business creating handmade mandala decor (paintings, tea light holders, diyas, etc - IG link in the comments). So, I wanted to gift her an experience that aligns with her interests. That’s when I found a pottery workshop organized by leap.club x The Clay Company We traveled for two hours (on a Sunday morning),  started with a ball of clay, and the rest was pure joy. She was a natural and had an absolute blast ❤️ But what made it even more special was the energy in the room. 📍Surrounded by young women building their lives, she said something that stuck with me: "Sab kuch na kuch kar rahe hai, koi ladki ab ghar par nahi baithti - kitna acha change hai."  ("All women are working and building something, no one just sits at home now—that's a wonderful change.") As a middle-aged woman → pushing against patriarchy, → expanding her art, and → finding herself, this moment gave her a renewed sense of purpose. We had founders, local business owners, NGO workers, corporate professionals, artists - all at one table. The flow of conversation was amazingly open, playful, and inspirational. This was my first event like this, and I loved it. 📍While screens help us connect with people at scale, nothing compares to real-life conversations.   Everyone feels more helpful, less guarded, and genuinely happy. So, this is your sign to find events near you, and make connections IRL. (and maybe take your mom?) --------------  If you’re a woman in India, definitely check out leap.club! They regularly host networking events and workshops + you can meet like-minded women around you through their app. Thank you to Shaminn Nayyar and Shriya Kastuar for hosting us! Sheena Khurana, Gurmehak Aulakh, Sunakshi J. - it was lovely connecting with you ❤️ ----------------- PS: Have you attended any networking events? How was your experience?

The Importance of Corporate Gifting: Why Handcrafted Ceramics Make a Difference Corporate gifting plays a crucial role in fostering and maintaining strong business relationships. Whether you're expressing gratitude to clients, recognizing employee achievements, or reinforcing partnerships, a thoughtful gift can have a lasting impact. We were delighted to host the Talent Management Leaders team from Sopra Steria's Noida office for a hands-on pottery workshop at our studio in Gurgaon. It was an afternoon filled with laughter, creativity, and collaboration as the team immersed themselves in the world of clay. Let us tell you, it was quite an enriching experience! Not only did it spark creativity, but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among the team. The best part was seeing everyone bond, share ideas, and support each other throughout the workshop. Believe us, it was amazing to witness. And you know what else? Working with clay has this soothing effect that helped everyone relax and opens the lines of communication. It was like therapy, we tell you! So, what are you waiting for? Curious to know how pottery fosters communication and collaboration among corporate employees? In the incredibly competitive and aggressive world of today, the importance of communication and collaboration can hardly be debated. And in the corporate world, it's even more important. When our teams communicate effectively and work together, that’s when the magic happens! But let's be real, traditional team-building stuff can get kind of boring and repetitive sometimes, right? Well, that's where Pottery comes in - it's a fun and creative way to up the ante on camaraderie in your team and improve the way people interact with each other. A pottery workshop is all about creating a chilled and relaxed atmosphere for your team. It's not like being in the office where everyone has their roles well defined and a million responsibilities. It’s a laid-back, relaxed space that helps people break down their walls and connect on a more personal level. We had the immense pleasure of hosting Accenture's dynamic Organizational Analytics team for a fun-filled team-building adventure. It sparked creativity, melted away stress, and fostered collaboration in the most delightful way. The workshop went beyond crafting masterpieces. It was about forging deeper bonds and celebrating the power of teamwork. It was inspiring to see such talented professionals ditch the spreadsheets for a day and embrace their inner artists. With creativity flowing, we were amazed at how they transformed clay into playful cups and saucers alongside intricate designs There was much laughter and lighthearted fun, but most importantly, a genuine sense of bonhomie and collaboration! That to our minds is priceless!! So, if you're looking for a corporate activity outside the box (and maybe a little messy!), choose The Clay Company! Hands in Clay, Hearts in Charity! A few weeks ago, I and managers from our span embarked on a unique engagement activity – a pottery session filled with learning, creativity, and lots of fun! From molding clay by hand to experimenting on the potter’s wheel, we created some wonderfully weird and beautiful pieces. One piece from each participant, was selected to be fired, glazed, and setup for auction in our Mercer Noida office. Idea was to raise funds and donate the collected amount to Niveda Foundation, aligning with our Marsh McLennan Global Social Impact theme. The auction was a success, and we’re proud to have made a meaningful contribution to our community. Thank you to all the volunteers, bidders and leaders who supported this event! Thank you The Clay Company for this amazing experience.
