Gold prices in India reached an all-time record high, hitting ₹76,899 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). This surge is driven by global economic uncertainty and anticipation of potential Federal Reserve rate cuts. Additionally, demand increased ahead of Diwali, driving prices higher in the retail market. The iconic Lady Justice statue at India's Supreme Court has just gotten a major makeover. Gone is the traditional blindfold, and in its place, the statue now boasts open eyes, symbolizing that justice sees everyone equally. This bold move, directed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, aims to break free from colonial legacy and showcase a uniquely Indian interpretation of justice. The new statue, dressed in a saree, holds the Constitution in one hand, replacing the sword that once represented authority and punishment. This change signifies a shift towards upholding rights, equality, and fairness. The scales of justice remain unchanged, representing balance in society and the impartial weighing of evidence.
