Absolutely loved catching up with the YLAC #PolicyInAction crew in NYC and DC! It was fantastic meeting fellows from across the 8 years that the Policy in Action Program has been in existence - from the first-ever 2016 edition to the latest 2023 cohort. So cool to learn about all the amazing work our fellows are doing—from tackling climate change and urban planning to international development, fighting misinformation, and shaping city policy with the Mayor's office in New York! Also, had a blast chatting about policy and politics back home in India! Super proud of you all! Keep shining 💛 Shania Ali Arundhati Joshi Priyadharshini Alagarraj Avneesh C. Over the past month, the Women Climate Collective, an initiative by Fondation L'Oréal & Purpose has brought together diverse voices from various sectors to advance the fight for climate justice. As the Lead Training Partner for WCC, we at Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) are proud to have designed and hosted a series of strategic training sessions aimed at amplifying our collective impact of the 2024 cohort. From media strategy and engaging with government stakeholders to perfecting the art of fundraising, each session was thoughtfully crafted to empower the WCC climate leaders with the tools and insights to create real, sustainable change in their communities. These sessions helped the leaders deepen their understanding of effective advocacy and equipped them to leverage collaborations to amplify grassroots efforts and drive policy change at scale. We are immensely grateful to all the experts and changemakers, including Pragya Mathur, Nandan Sharalaya, Anshul Tewari, and Kailash Nadh, who contributed their time and expertise to the WCC cohort. A special thank you to the incredible team behind WCC for their dedication in making this initiative possible. We look forward to seeing how these climate leaders continue to lead the way for climate action! Yesterday, the teams at Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) and The Quantum Hub (TQH) came together for a full team check-in. We had the privilege of hosting Anish Gawande, National Spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party, who shared valuable insights. Anish spoke candidly about his journey as a young, openly queer person in politics, offering a fresh perspective on navigating public life. The conversation also touched on political campaigning and the impact of citizens engaging with their local political leaders. We are deeply grateful to Anish for his time and the knowledge he shared. In a refreshing change from the many farewells we've posted recently, we were excited to welcome several new team members at YLAC and TQH, who have joined us over the past few months. Each brings a wealth of diverse experiences, and they have seamlessly integrated into our dynamic and passionate group. We also shared updates on various projects, with months of hard work now coming to fruition in exciting ways. The meeting concluded with a sneak peek into our new office space. Our team, our office, and our work are all rapidly expanding and diversifying :) Stay tuned for more updates!

Today, as part of the Sustainable Mobility Network, we are excited to share a short film highlighting the daily challenges faced by people navigating our cities. Rohini walks nearly 10 km every day through streets crowded with smoke-belching vehicles. Our cities must prioritize the health and mobility needs of individuals like her. As urbanization accelerates, air pollution has become a silent crisis, with road transport as a major contributor. On this World Car Free Day, let’s rethink our streets and urban spaces. Pollution and traffic will only decrease when cities are designed for people, not vehicles. Together, we can advocate for cleaner, safer, and more inclusive cities that serve everyone’s needs. #MyAccessMatters #WorldCarFreeDay
