Launched on the eve of World Health Day 2021, the CPHC Alliance was formed by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), LGT Venture Philanthropy and Swasti, The Health Catalyst. Established in 2021, the CPHC Alliance offers a space where the public and private sectors coalesce to strengthen the CPHC network across the country through collaboration.

Did you know? On average, a Community Health Officer (CHO) in India spends a significant portion of their time on administrative tasks rather than direct patient care. This study, The CPHC CORE Study, reveals critical inefficiencies in resource allocation and work patterns at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) (formerly Health and Wellness Centres). The study provides first-of-its-kind nationally representative data on the economic cost of delivering primary healthcare services, helping optimise investments. The expansion of CPHC services from 6 to 12 packages has increased workload, requiring better workforce management and efficiency strategies. A time and motion analysis shows that CHOs and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) are often engaged in non-clinical duties, highlighting the need for workflow optimisation. 📣 Strengthening Climate-Resilient Health Workforce: Milestone Achieved! We are thrilled to announce the completion of the second batch of Climate Care Champions Training of Trainers in Ananthapuramu District, Andhra Pradesh! With this, we successfully wrap up the first phase of our #collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health). Now, with over 80+ facilitators, we are ready for the second phase where these #champions will further capacitate ASHA workers and ANMs in the district. We are grateful to Ms. B. In 2022, there were an estimated 20 million new cancer cases globally, reinforcing the urgent need for comprehensive prevention and early detection strategies. (WHO) In India, cancer incidence is also rising, with 1,461,427 new cases recorded in 2022. However, a strong primary healthcare (PHC) system can significantly reduce the cancer burden by promoting prevention, early detection, and timely treatment. Integrating evidence-based cancer prevention and screening strategies within PHC is crucial to ensuring equitable access to care and reducing disparities.
