In the lead-up to the #Kurdistan Region’s Parliamentary elections, SEED Foundation is proud to collaborate with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Rudaw Media Network, IOL Organization, #ukinerbil, and #USCGErbil, to deliver vital training on #Online Safety to women candidates. Increased violence against women candidates - including harassment, image-based abuse, doxxing, and disinformation - has been witnessed in previous election cycles in both #Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Raising the awareness of candidates to safely report, protect themselves, and seek out or refer others to protection services, is critical to ensure fair elections! English/کوردی | Recently, SEED welcomed 30 judges from #Duhok, #Erbil, #Sulaimani, #Garmyan, and #Raparin for the second of two workshops focusing on ensuring the safe participation of witnesses and survivors/victims by implementing survivor-centered approaches in the judicial process, titled “Strengthening Human Rights by Promoting Effective Legal Protections”. Expert facilitator Christy Fujio, from Synergy for Justice facilitated the workshops aimed at strengthening the critical role that judges play in protecting and safeguarding people in Kurdistan, and in particular the protection of women and children.
