🔵 10 years of EurECCA 🔵 On Tuesday, 17 September 2024, the European Cabin Crew Association (EurECCA) celebrated its 10th anniversary. To mark the occasion, representatives of the EurECCA partner unions (ANPAC - Italy Alpa, UFO, VNC - Vereniging Nederlands Cabinepersoneel, STAVLA, SNPVAC, RACU) and guests from other organizations from various European countries came together at a conference to discuss common challenges, successes and current developments in the aviation industry. The CEO of TAP Air Portugal, Dr Luis Rodrigues , was also invited as a keynote speaker to answer questions from the audience. Many of the topics and problems are similar for crews across countries, which once again emphasized the need for dialogue and cooperation. In addition to exciting presentations and discussions, it became clear how important it is to be actively involved at European level. Due to the complexity of the aviation industry, which is more subject to external conditions than any other industry, international cohesion is crucial in order to effectively represent the interests of cabin crews. But it wasn't all work—there was also time to eat, socialize, and celebrate together. After all, a milestone like this deserves to be properly recognized!

Why is it so important to have two well trained and rested pilots in the cockpit at all time in a flight?! Watch this video where the presidents of IFALPA, Air Line Pilots Association and the European Pilots (ECA) explain, on behalf of the entire group of Pilots’ Associations worldwide, why two pilots are essential for safety. It's worth watching it until the end as it provide numerous examples of cases where the presence and synergy between the two pilots at the controls was crucial for flight safety. Yesterday, Cpt paul vissers member of ANPAC - Italy Alpa had the opportunity to make an intervention at the International Civil Aviation Organization Air Navigation Conference on behalf of IFALPA on Commercial Space Operations and remote towers. #safetystartswith2 #flightsafety #safety #aviation #pilots #airlines
At the International Civil Aviation Organization Air Navigation Conference yesterday, IFALPA’s Air Traffic Services Committee Chair, Cpt Paul Vissers made an intervention supporting working papers on safe Higher Airspace Operations- Proposals to improve the efficiency of air navigation services contributing to Long Term Aspirational Goals (LTAG). As commercial space operations continue to grow, it’s crucial for States to ensure that all operators adhere to responsible and predictable launch and re-entry trajectories. This is vital for the safety of our skies and the populations below them. We must work together to develop operational concepts and enhance the capabilities of Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs)—organizations responsible for managing air traffic and ensuring safe and efficient airspace use. This includes establishing space vehicle airworthiness standards, separation standards, and real-time information sharing between space operators and ANSPs. Real-time airspace management will be key to efficient and safe airspace utilization. The need for clear guidelines and international cooperation has never been more urgent. Let’s ensure our skies remain safe as we enter this new frontier. For more insights, check out our detailed position paper on this issue: https://lnkd.in/emk_Vaas #AviationSafety #CommercialSpaceOperations #ANSP #ICAO #AirspaceIntegration

Our president Riccardo Canestrari was interviewed by Alessandro Milan on Radio 24 (the Italian business radio network) explaining how turbulence could influence commercial flights. ANPAC - Italy Alpa is always at the forefront in informing and raising awareness among general public on aviation. #safetystartswith2 #flightsafety #safety #aviation #pilots #airlines
Every passenger deserves a safe flight, no matter what. This means having 2 qualified pilots at the controls, regardless of the flight, price, airline, or aircraft type. Recognising the risks associated with single-pilot flights, European Pilots have launched a website (https://lnkd.in/ddentMW3) aimed at those most impacted: the passengers. ANPAC - Italy Alpa supports this initiative, so please help us share it with all the passengers that will take the skies!

Some people are saying one pilot is enough. That’s like saying one wing is enough. Always having two pilots on the flight deck is essential to safe operations, and one of the major reasons why air travel in the U.S. is the safest mode of transportation.
