💡 Ansaldo Energia took part last week in the SMART Cup Liguria event, an initiative promoted by Regione Liguria and organized by FI.L.S.E. S.p.A. - Finanziaria Ligure per lo Sviluppo Economico at BIC - Incubatore di imprese FILSE in collaboration with the University of Genoa and PNICube, dedicated to young people and young companies to promote the most innovative ideas born in our region. 🏆 Davide Pinna, Head of Intellectual Property at Ansaldo Energia, presented our award to Antares Electrolysis S.r.l., a startup created with the aim of decarbonizing sectors such as heavy industry, chemicals, and transport through the production of green hydrogen and other advanced e-fuels. ⚛️ Ansaldo's journey in fusion technology began decades ago in the 1980s, and today we are at the forefront of the ITER reactor initiative, being involved in 43% of contracts linked to Italian companies. Fusion is the most technologically ambitious target: for this reason, collaboration between governments, academia and private industry is crucial to building a sustainable ecosystem until the technology reaches a readiness level for industrial deployment. Ansaldo Energia's CEO Fabrizio Fabbri and the Senior Vice President of Business Development Andrea Benveduti met today at the Inaugural Ministerial meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) World Fusion Energy Group with the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Sätqaliev, the Kazakh Ambassador to Italy Yerbolat Sembayev and Gumar Sergazin, Director of the Department of Atomic Energy and Industry of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.   Ansaldo Energia is providing its gas turbines and generators to the Almaty CHPP-3 new combined cycle power plant. This activity, together with the creation of a technological hub for training and skills exchange, will foster industrial and institutional relations in a broader context of collaboration between the two countries. 📍Ansaldo Energia has been present in the United Arab Emirates for more than thirty years, meeting the market's needs with advanced, high-tech solutions. One of the projects of particular strategic importance in this area is the Mirfa power plant in Abu Dhabi, a combined-cycle plant made up of 10 rotating machines produced in Genoa. 📍Today in Brussels, Ansaldo Nucleare is unveiling the prototype of the EU-SMR-LFR lead-cooled commercial reactor, ALFRED, to the Supply Chain Technical Working Group of the European Industrial Alliance on Small Modular Reactors. This project unites European efforts to develop a fast-neutron, lead-cooled, advanced fourth-generation nuclear reactor, with the first unit potentially operational by 2040.
