We officially kicked off the #CE4EUislands forum 2024 this morning! Alejandro Ulzurrun De Asanza Y Munoz, Head of Unit European Union at DG Ener introduced the broader concept of the green deal and the importance of conveying it to the islands' context where most of the action is happening. There is a strong sense of community and leadership at the local level on EU islands which can be used to turn islanders into prosumers of #cleanenergy. With this unique setting, EU islands play a crucial role in turning the EU climeate-neutral by 2050. Islanders make up a ciritcal mass of citizens of the EU with over 2400 inhabited islands. #CE4EUislands
