EnGreen have participated in the #MEDPOWER2024 Conference in Athens hosted by Institution of Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and National Technical University of Athens! 🎉 Our Colleague Tommaso Ferrucci had the honor of presenting "Integrating Energy Communities into the Electricity Market: Overcoming Barriers and Enhancing Flexibility in Spain, Italy, and Greece" alongside Dimitrios Lagos from IREC - Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya and an incredible team of co-authors, including Matteo Troncia, José Luis Alcañiz Pérez, Jose Pablo Chaves Avila, Sotirios Pantelis, Josh Eichman, and Davide Poli. This project brings together expertise from DESTEC Università di Pisa; the Instituto de Investigación Tecnológica (IIT), Universidad Pontificia Comillas; IREC - Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya, and the University of Patras, focusing on breaking down barriers and boosting flexibility for energy communities in the Mediterranean. A heartfelt thanks to the #MEDPOWER organizers and my collaborators. This impactful event brought together Italian and American leaders, industry pioneers, and policy experts to tackle one of today’s most pressing challenges: advancing the energy transition in a way that strengthens security and economic resilience. 🌍Amid global energy concerns and environmental challenges, collaboration across borders is essential. 🌱 EnGreen was thrilled to participate in the 1st SUPREMAS General Assembly in Rieti, Italy, on October 29-30! SUPREMAS, co-financed by the European Union, aims to advance Europe’s leadership in bio-energy, foster decentralized gas systems, and drive the energy transition. EnGreen’s goal in the project is to assess the feasibility and replicability of the SUPREMAS system within Energy Communities (CERs), exploring various business models to support sustainable implementation. 🚀Kicking off a groundbreaking journey! On October 15th and 16th, we gathered in the heart of Rome to officially launch the ANEW-LIFE project. As the project coordinator, EnGreen was thrilled to host two incredible days filled with brainstorming, collaborative planning, and future-forward thinking alongside our dedicated partners. 🇪🇺 Funded by the European Union, LIFE Programme, the ANEW-LIFE project aims to support clean energy transitions in Ukrainian cities by developing innovative financing tools, while also offering municipalities the resources needed to promote the process of normalization and long-term resilience at the local level. We’re excited to move forward and grateful to everyone involved for their contributions and commitment! During these two days, we shared ideas, laid out plans for the next steps, and strengthened our connections through insightful conversations and networking. Along with the productive sessions, we also had the chance to explore Rome together, creating a stronger bond for future collaboration.
