📍 #B7Conference in #Matera, held in conjunction with the G7 Ministerial on #GenderEquality and Women’s Empowerment, masterfully led by Chair @Emma Marcegaglia in the presence of Minister Roccella, serves as a powerful platform to address these critical challenges. Building on the G7 Leaders’ Declaration, we are focused on creating stronger #labor market policies, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing the #inclusion of underrepresented groups—particularly #women and #youth.
🌍 G7 countries have the unique ability to address labor market disparities, from skills mismatches to limited workforce potential. By prioritizing the participation of the underrepresented we can drive economies forward with the full recognition of diverse #talents. The redesign of education systems, combined with targeted skill development and upskilling, will be key in addressing the rapid technological shifts and ensuring continuous learning opportunities for all.
💡 Despite progress, #gender disparities remain a significant barrier to economic #growth, #innovation, #competitiveness and societal well-being. G7 nations have a responsibility to champion gender equality through actionable policies that dismantle systemic barriers, foster economic opportunities, and expand women’s participation across all sectors. Businesses are integral to this effort by creating an inclusive culture and developing gender-diverse leadership.
👩💼 Empowering youth and investing in their capabilities is essential! We must focus on programs that enhance education, particularly in #STEM, and ensure that all individuals—especially women and girls—have access to the skills and resources they need to thrive in the evolving #AI-driven job market. Research consistently shows that gender-diverse companies not only perform better but also enjoy enhanced reputations and stakeholder trust.
👥 To achieve these goals, a strong public-private partnership is key. From mentorship and leadership development programs for women to flexible employment policies that accommodate life stages, we can build a #future of equal opportunity. Through funding, mentorship, and targeted initiatives, we can #bridge both the youth recruitment gap and the gender gap in business ownership and leadership.
