We attended the Transitions Project final conference last week, where we learned about their results and got our hands on their attractive and effective Loopholes Toolkit! We recommend anyone working in training for a sustainable T&C to look into this. We were also amongst other European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) Erasmus+ projects AddTex and SiT - Sustainability in TCLF, and had a few minutes to share our progress, especially our new Green VETRINE course. 🌍 Important announcement: discover our inaugural European Manifesto! ✨ We are pleased to invite you to a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainable fashion: the release of our inaugural European Manifesto! This event will take place in Brussels on February 20th, 2025. 🎤 Our first European event will convene a diverse group of stakeholders — including industry leaders, policymakers, and circularity experts — united by a common goal: to advocate for a transformative agenda that redefines the fashion industry through the principles of circularity. Stay tuned, the full programme will be disclosed soon! 🤝 The unveiling of our Manifesto, developed in collaboration with our +300 member companies, will amplify our advocacy actions at the European scale. In these times of backlash, Europe must recognize circularity as the greatest lever for competitiveness. 🗓️ Date: February 20th, 2025 - 9:30-12:30 📍 Location: Press Club Brussels Europe, Rue Froissart 95, Brussels & on-line Make sure to register through the link in the first comment! #policy / The HEREWEAR vision of a sustainable EU textile sector based on ‘bio-based’, ‘local’ and ‘circular’, touches on the Textile Strategy but also many more EU policies. Consequently, it can benefit from policy measures in many domains. Based on the activities of HEREWEAR, in our policy brief, we phrased concrete recommendations along the following themes: ‘understand the market’, ‘foster a holistic approach to bio-based textiles’, ‘support local and social’, ‘implement a coherent and fair legislative framework’, ‘lead by example via public procurement’ and ‘raise awareness among all stakeholders’.
