BioLNG is making life easier for the shipping industry in more ways than one. New FuelEU regulations require ships to reduce the carbon intensity of their fuel, starting with a 2% reduction, with targets gradually increasing until 2050. Through the use of bioLNG to power their vessels, Scandinavian shipowners are exceeding the 2% reduction and reaping the benefits. By pooling their emissions between vessels, over-compliant ships can then compensate for under-compliant ones. Cryogenics is a very technical field, but this video from Geopop manages to succinctly explain in basic terms how important and useful cryogenic technology is, and how wide-ranging its applications are. We were also pleased to see that a Vanzetti cryogenic pump made a brief appearance, demonstrating our growing status as a benchmark within the industry.
