𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗱𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗶 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗮𝗿 🚀 Italian cheese exports to Japan climbed sharply in 2024, rising 14% by volume and 11% in value, driven by strong demand for PDO-certified varieties. Total exports reached 12,700 tonnes—40% of which coming from PDO cheeses—valued at €106.9 million. Pdo and Pgi cheeses accounted for €53.4 million in total exports 🌍 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗣𝗱𝗼 and 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗣𝗱𝗼 led the gains, with shipments rising 12% to nearly 2,000 tonnes, generating more than €22 million in sales. Grated cheese exports soared 87% to 1,400 tonnes, while 𝗠𝗼𝘇𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗱𝗶 𝗕𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗱𝗼 and 𝗚𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗣𝗱𝗼 saw steady growth, reaching 800 and 510 tonnes, respectively. The trend underscores a broader consumer shift towards convenience and waste reduction. European promotion projects boost Italian cured meat exports 🇮🇹 🇪🇺 The EU-funded 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦, 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 campaign, led by ASSICA, Italy’s meat and cured meats industry association, is entering its second three-year phase with strong momentum, as export figures point to sustained growth. In the first 11 months of 2024, Italian cured meat exports to European markets grew by 13.9% in volume and 7.5% in value compared to the same period of the previous year. Total exports, including non-EU markets, increased by 12.8% in volume, reaching 211,534 tonnes, and by 9.2% in value, reaching €2.17 billion.
